Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |

Yah... container traffic is unfortunately where it's at. Back in my day it was only about drug traffic, but even there... the volume of container traffic was so high that there was just no possible way to check them all. It was pretty much assumed that containers had most of the drug traffic. You'd have been stupid not to do it that way.
You're a port authority... You get a container boat in, and the big ones are on the order of 2500 containers... and they have less than 24hrs to be unpacked, repacked and on their way again... so figure 12 hrs to unpack 2500 containers. That's already more than 200 containers/hr and more than 3 containers/minute. Fully inspect them all? yer dreamin...
It simply cannot be done, not without major impact and excess cost on the economy as a whole.
It's fast approaching midnight here, folks. I'm off to bed!
Nighty night Hobbit Hole!
Niters! :-)
Well... the tire-track portions do tend to fry up a little faster than the other parts... the meat being a little thinner and all.
This does make it a somewhat more difficult portion to cook, all things considered. :-)
Good night!
Sheesh, this opening song has about the worst Engrish ever. "Rock and Roll" comes out "Lock and Loll".
I still like this one:

...and on that note, gentlepersons... I will take my leave.
It has been more than fun. But now I am outta here for yet another day. Niters...
Good evening! Whew, y'all were busy today, will have to catch up in the morning.
Had much fun at the fair... ate some overpriced food, browsed the exhibits, watched draft horse driving demonstration, and stopped by the Repulican booth to pick up some stickers and buttons and signs. Got a big sign for our GOP governor candidate, which should go well with our Bush/Cheney sign in the pasture. Wierd Al was a hoot, did some classics and some new stuff.
We are tired, so pictures will wait till tomorrow.
Reason I am asking is that I came across this in a search for some idea I could use for the villain of the story I am working on to have in pursuit of the protagonist ie why and what for and what is he up against. One of the characters has, in my mind, formed up as a Jewish mystic, although the story itself is not about him being Jewish so much as why he is being pursued. The notion of 36 hidden saints would be an excellent way of explaining his role in the story and why my protagonist finds himself involved in the story, although I have not decided if I want to be so bold as to say the protag replaces the tzadikim. The protag is Christian, and I am accutely aware of the sensitivities Jews have about Christians becoming involved in the goals of Israel.
How about pausing between chews to spit out shot?
By the way, Good Morning!
Good morning! Woke up at 2 am this morning, tossed and turned for an hour then got up. Hubby not happy with me, but this is the way it has been for several days. Dont know what to do about it.
tzadikim translates loosely as saints. Literally, tzadiq means "righteous" so, the "secret" or "hidden rightous ones" is probably a better translation. Another slang term used is lamed vavniks which literally means the "36" .
What this refers to is in hasidic judaism where there is a tradition where there are 36 men whose roll it is to justify the present existence of man to G-d. The idea is that in each generation, there are 36 righteous ones, and when one of them dies or realizes his goal (which may result in insanity and/or death), he is replaced by another tzadiq. They are secret or hidden in that they are unknown to each other as well as to the rest of the world.
BTW, that would be a cool character to have in your book. It would add a new, mystical dimension.
Good morning!
Another beautiful fall day here!
And a user I had helped out with a project the other day just walked in and presented me with a big bottle of Chipotle Tabasco...so my day is going grand! I had mentioned I wasn't able to find it anymore...it was here and then it wasn't. He had bought a case awhile back, so he had some on hand. I happy!
Oatmeal (and some flax) with cinnamon and apple for breakfast. Tasty.
Good morning!
mornin!
getting ready for the trek to school and bible study over here. elf-boy has 15 minutes.
How nice!!
I have already had a busy morning...the jedis are still asleep, but I've got the trash picked up, put in the dumpster and pulled out to the street. I fed the chickens.
School starts in about a half hour!
