Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

When I was your age, I hit on the teachers. Phooey on the students.

ksen and our castle are gonna get hit. I read a storm surge of 10-12 feet. That will put water into the castle!
I keep wondering, since we haven't heard, what ksen ended up doing!

Thanks. I'm getting nicely acclimated to the altitude - haven't had breathing trouble "down here" lately, and last week at 12,000 feet had only slight difficult, and that was while climbing a very steep slope.
Have not yet decided on the adventure. Aspen is kinda far, and I couldn't stay more than a day and a half...

Do you have a current number? The number he had at entmoot is a disconnect.

The only one I would have would be the one from before Entmoot...if I even have a number.
Ruthy might have it...

Does he have a receding hair line? Well, now that you mention it...
How does that connect? 'Cause of TV or sumpin? ;-)
Haven't you noticed how all those meteorology dudes have thinning/receding/no hair? Especially those senior Phd meteorology hurricane dudes from the National Weather Service?
My sister went to a meteorology seminar thing once last year....cueball city!

Ruthy doesn't have it.... I just called her, she's all boarded up except for one back door where the dog can go in and out, but the dog won't go out. She's between bands right now.
She waves, and she'll call later.

Man... I'm going to pray that I want to pray for Clinton. Can't quite manage it yet.I won't pray for his death, unless he's convicted at a trial, first. But I can't pray for his recovery, either.
Considering how he and his consort have declared Christianity to be the only real domestic enemy America has, I figure they'd be insulted if I offered up my prayers for his speedy and complete recovery. Besides, in their view, I'd be guilty of violating the Constitution by breaking down the wall of separation of church and state, which we have been told repeatedly, is our greatest freedom.
Or is it the right to an abortion, the right to health care, the right not to live in fear of guns...

Does this mean Ruthy ain't gonna make breakfast?
Right now the thing is 145 nautical miles from downtown Miami, bearing 086 degrees. Heading more or less toward Kevin, I believe.
Just took a walk around the neighborhood, no cars moving, every house except a couple boarded up neatly, you can tell they planned for a storm long ago. The neighborhood got walloped badly during Andrew, everyone here takes these things seriously.
However it looks as if we will get away with it hopefully on this one, though there is still a hurricane warning in effect for this area.
