The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

S'ok... you can fight Riza for him... I want Ed. Or Ed plus five years, that should be ok.

I did nearly get killed by a crazed Kyo-fan yesterday when I said I preferred, in "Fruits Basket", Kyo to Yuki because Yuki looks like a girl. She said Kyo was hers... so I said Shigure-san was more handsome than either of them boys, anyway.

I'm gonna have to get you Fruits Basket somehow, if I have to mail the dvds to you! Since you don't know - http://www.fruits-basket.com/ - orange hair is Kyo, girl is Tohru, boy who looks like a girl is Yuki, man is Shigure.

(Though if you ever have $80 you're doing nothing with, FB is a great little series. It's on four disks, so it's mildly affordable. Maybe you could get the bothers to help out, since they like anime).

OK, I have: Four For Tomorrow (Looks like short stories?)
Damnation Alley
Jack of Shadows
and Eye of Cat

They were all inexpensive, (like a dime or a quarter), so I figured if I really didn't care for 'em, or if I got ones that weren't really up to his standards, I could just give them to the Salvation Army store and not be out much...

Any you recognize?

None of them are "Amber"... you should request the Amber collection at the library. It's got all ten in one volume.

I'll probably have to do it at the public library rather than the school.

Right now I have more than enough reading material, though! But I hadn't realized there was an all-in-one. That makes it much easier...

Oh, I haven't read that one.

Yup! I've got a copy of the "Great Book of Amber" on my shelf right now, a Christmas present from my father some years back.

Ok. Clearly this "homework" is not getting anywhere. I think I shall just enjoy some anime this evening. Question is... Escaflowne or Full Moon?

I'm still reading Timeline, and enjoying it very much for the most part. Chris is even MORE useless in the book than in the movie. Amazing.

And Merek is just as cool, though totally different.

Evening; that's entirely possible, we've have two more that haven't bloomed yet but look like they could.

Did you get any of the reddish leaved ones or were they the green ones?

We've had yellow/gold, orange/amber? and red so far. They should bloom through September and until a good frost.

BBS - Gypsy's time to go. :-)

So far this year, there have been hurricanes bearing the names of both my daughter and my wife.

No wonder it has been trouble!

It's a good thing you only have one daughter and one wife, or Florida would be in series trouble.

Yes, but on the other hand, there haven't been any hurricanes bearing the name of my mother in law. Of course she is no longer with us.

Although, to my surprise, I regret that she isn't.

hehehehe...

Well, I certainly hope that Jeanne won't bother with us and that all the other hurricanes decide the Atlantic is the place to be and stay!

What's the name of them choppers...you told me once and now I can't remember. Plain green choppers, sliding doors on the side...loud, but not as loud as the double bladed ones.
