Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh, how CUTE!!! I can't believe that's the same little one that barfed all over me! He's just growing so fast!
I can't wait to attend his wedding and remind him about the barfing business.

Thanks Mrsnad...I ridiculously proud of myself.
I woke up feeling awful this morning. Headache, backache, dizzy. Feel better after a hardy breakfast and a couple of cups of coffee, but Steve took the jedis to church.
I finally got around to "flyladying" the jedis room. I mean major cleaning. They have less than a fourth of their toys left, but they kept the very best and are thrilled to now be able to get to them to play with them! All of Matthew's very nice Star Wars action figures and fighters are now prominently displayed and he's thrilled.
Steve and I cleaned every corner. The bunkbed weighs a TON and I'm not kidding. It's very heavy. We tilted it over on it's side and cleaned every inch of it and the floor under it and the baseboards and everything. It's spotless.
I went through their drawers and got rid of any clothes with holes in them (a considerable amount...if you recall, our dryer nicked holes in everything...but now we've "recovered" from it and I can get rid of the holey stuff.) Also put stuff away that doesn't fit Matthew and gave away anything that doesn't fit Joshua anymore.
I only have their book shelves to dust and organize, then wash the wall around the light switch.

Good morning!!
Have you heard anything about your offer? I haven't gone back over and read the thread, just my pings.
Good morning, Hair! How are you, way over there?

They faxed the offer to the bank that owns it. Might hear soemthing tomorrow.
To: Overtaxed
Well, good luck with that!
I was telling Steve that when he gets a new job, little bit by little bit I'm getting rid of almost every bit of furniture in this house. Almost everything I own is a cast-off from my parents and I'm so sick of it. I'm starting over from the carpet up. None of it is to my taste. I don't even know what my taste is yet.
All I know is I hate all this stuff.

Ok, here it is....

Hah! Gotcha. It's henna. I wouldn't make a decision like getting a tattoo in one day! Although some of my choices yesterday were a little... suspect. Something about being around those anime people....

This is what I bought (ignore the stack of library books in the background). A lot of it is really useless. I did justify the three pencil boards (items on the left; two from "Fullmetal Alchemist" and one from "Rurouni Kenshin" by the fact that I can use them on my table so I can write on it without marking... and I'd have bought the manga (Full Metal Panic, the orange blob) anyway and it was cheaper there. The hand-fan in the background was just fun, and cheap, and the cd is a domestic reprint of the "Fruits Basket" soundtrack so it was $15, not $45. I don't know what the big red book is yet, I just got it because it was cheap, pretty, and I still had money.
Right... the stack of dvds... well, they were fifty percent off and I really love "Escaflowne", and I brought my credit card after all...

But the sofa's comfy. Can't you just get it recovered?
To: Lil'freeper
It's pretty cool, though! I wanted something to proclaim my allegiance to some anime. Everyone else was in costume, or had a t-shirt, or a pin, or something, so I picked a design that would indicate to those who know Fullmetal Alchemist that I was a fan... funny, the series isn't available here in the US but there was a ton of merchandise for it, and the henna chick had this design in her book already...

I have a sneakin' suspicion there are other comfy couches in the world! ;-D
I did measure it and found it was 84" long...and sure enough, there are other 84" couches out there. I like this one...

Hehehe...have you seen this?

Or am I just late to the party?
To: Overtaxed
Doesn't have a footstool, but this one would "go" I think...

It looks darker, but according to the website, it's the same material.

I haven't seen this exact version...I've seen a few others though and love them all. My favorite is the one that Registered did, of Barad Dur crumbling with the CBS eye on top.

I've got chairs from my mother and my grandmother....they match each other but not the couch that I bought.
To: 2Jedismom
Hehehe. He needs to have Frodo and Sam on Mount Doom in their pajamas
To: Overtaxed
I just saw a thread about that... someone oughta ping ecurbh...
Ugh, time for church. I'm exhausted, I've got a headache, and I've lost my voice from all the screaming yesterday.

I want new carpet throughout the house and new linoleum in the kitchen...new cabinet doors too and take that dropped-down ceiling in the kitchen out and just put in regular lighting.
What I really want is a new house, but this one sure is cheap. We only paid 69K for it.
