Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sure! Is it time to divide again?

Mine's not that heavy. I can pick it up and load it into the trunk.
I'm listening to the Cubbies game.
To: HairOfTheDog
LOL! Don't I wish!
The only good thing about the mission statement is that it's finally written and will no longer require my attendance at 3 hour meetings to design it.

I am in the library for a few minutes. Ivan fortunately missed me completely, though I graduated from college at the University of West Florida, right next to the I-10 Bridge over Escambia Bay which has been badly damaged.
Previous storm knocked out Cable for a few days, most everyone else in the Ocala area lost power.
So far I have been lucking out, now getting ready to duck Jennie. The way we are going, we'll hit the 'T' named stormk by election day.

This gets prettier every time I look at it.
Look how few are dark blue today.

*sigh*
I'm still in a dark blue state.
I take some comfort in knowing that if they went by counties, the northeastern corner of VT (where I live) would be red.

WONDERFUL to hear from you, LCS!
We've been lucky here in Miami, so I was hoping the luck had held out for the other Florida HHDers.

Florida's still pink. I wish all of the double-voting snowbirds would just stay up north and stop skewing our electoral results.

The funny thing? I refreshed right after I posted the link, and the next one was...
better...
I suppose a three hour meeting with one person continually pushing F5 while everyone else mumbled "...no...no..." would send me the rest of the way around the bend.

Mine (Michigan) is light blue.
I'm working on it.
However, I will not come out the day after and say
"I take full responsibility"
no matter what the result.

hehehehe...the head of HR was hosting the meeting and she had the entire payroll department calling out adjectives to describe ourselves.
I exercised incredible restraint, all things considered.

"Unctuous!"
"Emaciated!"
"Purple!"
"Adhesive!"
I am such a repressed smart-aleck in such meetings.
