HI From Denver! I think the interview this A.M. went OK...it's shock-jock "journalism" so you never know how it's edited (especially since I couldn't watch channel 5 in Denver). Denver is a bit disappointing (probably 'cause I'm not here during winter when I could ski). Just a big city like all the others...lots of homeless folks in the parks and lots of advertisements in Spanish for the migrant workers. Not too impressed but still, it'll be an easier rest of the week from here than from the office. Kind of nice Freepin on the work computer...take that you leftists!

Hey Scott... is it just me or was Denver a lot flatter than you expected it to be when you got there?

I'd always pictured Denver as being "surrounded" by the rockies... but then I found that Denver is actually just in the flat part of Colorado that for some reason Nebraska and Kansas didn't want. dunno why. There's mountains... but they are "over there" (pointing to the flatirons).

By way of full disclosure though... while I have a lot of time spent there it's all been up in Boulder, and little of it in Denver exactly. Boulder I found to be sorta like Olympia. Up to its gills in Greeners.

I like Denver (even if it is a liberal cesspool). There's a lot of neat historic sites, a wonderful living history museum in Littleton. The old-downtown is quirky and charming. There's an awesome record "store" called Wax-Trax somewhere around 14th street. The "store" is nearly a block of stores. All kinds of music- vey fun. And there's an awesome bookstore near Cherry Hill called The Tattered Cover. Several stories of books. It's a liberal hangout like a Barns-n-Noble but it's fun nonetheless.

How I miss my summers in the mountains. *sigh*
