Went to the anime club. It was pretty fun... most of the regulars were very cliqueish, but I hung out with a couple younger girls who were new, too. They showed a lot of different stuff and I'm fairly overloaded. Sigh... and it was so nice to listen in on conversations about whether or not Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle are the best team of SF writers, or about who'd win in a battle between Batman and Kenshin. I've missed geek-talk so much...
"who'd win in a battle between Batman and Kenshin"
What was the verdict? My natural instinct is to say "Batman", but then on second thought Kenshin's power level seems to rise to meet whatever opponent he's facing, so now I'm debating. . .
Nah, these are just open mic gigs, and they're good exposure. Better bands than we are play for 'em, just as a way of expanding their fan base. But it's true we also don't want to get a name as a band that'll play anywhere for free. That's a dangerous reputation!
Ugh...here it is noon, I've been up for hours, and I'm still not awake. Drinking coffee in hopes of remedying that, but I'm just NOT with it today.
