Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

hobbitses don't want to lose their nice comfy hole... We have to move often enough as it is.

What did he say to the "taking up space" remark? Polite chuckling?

Absolutely. Hobbitses are stay-at-home creatures. Wandering doesn't suit most of us.

Hey everybody! I hope you don't mind me just jumping in here... somehow I managed to find the homepage for the Hobbit Hole and I peeked in on the threads. I'm 18, live in WA, was homeschooled but attend Art Institute of Seattle. Reading, anime, spending time (read: lurking) on FR :), video games, writing, church, music and of course LOTR are my interests. .... and... I wish I were a hobbit.

What part do you get stuck on?
Did I mention that Tom Bombadil is in the game? He sings, and Goldberry dances...it's quite a treat!
Fedora - Never played any in the Neverwinter Nights series...but I hear it's great! I've got a whole slew of games on my "to be played" list...and that's one of them.

It won't let me outta town! I don't care if Lobelia gets the key or Sandyman gets that pin or whatever. What's Frodo anyway? "Hobbiton Do-Gooders, Inc." ... er...Ltd?

LOL...unfortunately, he has to play the role of errand boy before he can leave Hobbiton.
The good thing is, that's the only level in which he has to perform such services.
The rest of the game is all about killin' stuff.

I have the first Neverwinter. Haven't been able to devote much time to it, but I really enjoy it.

Sounds like you'll fit right in here!
I was homeschooled, too - so was JenB.
Welcome to the Hobbit Hole! Pull up a chair, have a pint (I like the ice cream kind, personally...), and feel free to jump into one of the many conversations! We always seem to have at least four or five going at once...
