Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The original four chickens are getting on molting age...I put the light on in the coop, hoping to stall it, but nature will take it's course eventually. They have already slowed down laying. They stop all together during molt.

Perfect timing for the other girls to start layin'.

Rarely do I do this, and I never thought I'd have to on this subject...

My sister, who lives overseas, would like me to call her, prepared to talk about UnfairHate 7-11 (I refuse even to call it by its right name if I can avoid it).

Do any of you have a favorite debunking site? I'm poking around on MooreWatch and coming up only with fragmentary reports, so far.

Speakin' of meat...

My understanding is that once you freeze meat, you can't thaw it and refreeze it unless you cook it.

I keep tellin' Steve not to freeze the bulk hamburger in the bulk package! Well, he froze 5lbs of hamburger all in one package. I couldn't use it! It was starting to get freezer burn so I decided I'd best at least get it cooked.

So I defrosted it and I'm cooking 2.5lbs of it in hamburger helper and gonna fry up the rest of in patties and refreeze it.

The jedis are thrilled...they love hamburger helper. They'll have enough of it.

Whew! Prayer answered just now. I'm expected to pay at least a grand out of pocket for this one visit. And of course, payment due on visit. I am getting two root canals and three crown build ups.

If'n I didn't get approved for this special line of credit, I would have had to call the dentist and tell em to cancel my appointment next thursday.

My favorite part of WeddingMoot was just the times we sat around at Hair's house and visited.

It was kinda fun when we freaked Gidget out with the whistles. Hehehe
