Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Although that house was already pretty high up...(Floridialy speaking, of course).

Yeah - it was probably close to five feet over sea level.

Doesn't sound good, though.

Can't you just check 'em as luggage?

I'm joking! Only joking! But I wish you were in a safer place!

It might take out that weird shrubbery.... improve the view from the downstairs!

It might also place that kids' castle in the livingroom, though.

Along with a couple tons of sand and who knows what else.

*laughing*

Maybe Alyson, but Becky wouldn't fit!

My mom and I have already discussed where to park the cars, etc. We'll have one of the cars by the front door in case the roof goes and we'll run for cover in the car.

A roof is heavier than a car.

Oh definitely. But the chances of the roof of the car being ripped off are much less.

Our roof survived Andrew for the most part. We only lost a 10x10 section on the back corner which ruined the master bedroom.

As long as we don't get a direct hit, I have no doubt we'll be alright. Oh yeah, and as long as no tornadoes show up.

The further north it goes the later it will arrive.

If it hits us down here, it'll be here on Friday.

I wasn't thinking of the roof of the car coming off, I was thinking of the amount of wind to make the whole car fly.
