Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Darn it... missed The Amazing Race, as they had it on an hour early tonight. Hope they replay it on Saturday, as they've been doing...

That's gotta be the second biggest sofa I've ever seen.

To: Ramius
Maybe it'd be OK in the right room....

I'll just download it like I've been doing... grin...
Tomorrow I need to do laundry and make a trip to the library, I'm out of new reading material for the bus.

Is that the specially reinforced sofa for Michael Moore?
To: JenB
Cable schedule says it's on Saturday night, I've set a reminder for it... as long as we're home, we should see it.

Cool. Am interested in seeing whether the twins pull out or not. Wouldn't it be wild if the moms won this thing?

I dunno, maybe a couple of throw pillows is all it needs.
One good thing... you could use that extra kitchen table as a coffee table.

Also because I was raised a Trekkie and like to make fun of myself. That's why I love that movie, too. They got the fan side, and the "star" side of Trekdom down pat. Right down to the supporting cast falling on hard times after the series ending.
Speaking of movies, another minor movie treasure of mine, "Silver Streak", comes out in DVD in December. Order already placed, since I doubt this will have a long run in print.
I'm still waiting for "Strategic Air Command" to come out in DVD. Jimmy Stewart and B-36s, out there living the SAC motto: "Peace is our profession (war is just a hobby for us)."

Have you seen last week's episode...?

I'm really sorta annoyed at the folk on the live thread tonight. Yeesh... digging at the twins... give it a rest already. They're not politicians or public speakers. I thought they were cute. I thought they came off as a couple of kids that love their dad and don't take themselves all that seriously. They were regular kids. Jeez... lighten up already... :-)

I'm not surprised, we have a big curmudgeon contingent on FR. I never clicked the live thread.... I'll check it out.
