Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

the perimeter trip line would be good but-for the horses ;~D
The good news security-wise is that the white frame of it is ~really visible at night from there house. It gets a lot of reflected light off the store, I can see forms moving in the pasture at night.
But we gotta go rig something else to try for tonight :~D

Smear that sucker with Vaseline. You'll easily hear the yelps of disgust when someone tries to grab any part of it.
That's what I did with my Bush/Cheney signs in 2000 and I could see the handprints on the sign, but no one actually removed them. *grin*
They freak out just by sticking their hand into an invisible layer of goop. hehehehe....

OK, OK, I've had enough too.

I'd love to come and stand guard over that sign overnight...sleep during the day.
I bet Ruthy would take shifts with me...
You want the first half of the night or the last half, Ruthy??

Yikes! Glad you made it home safe!
We're just about to get another wave of storms here and are under a flood watch...but I doubt we'll get anything series...just some of the dirt roads will get washed out pretty badly if we get torrential rains. That's to be expected, I guess.
But I'd better shut down before they get too close. Gonna go read and then to bed, maybe sooner rather than later, if the power goes out.

How about barbed wire, twisted around the posts... and vaseline, to make it hard for them to grip between the wire.

ROFLOL!! I like the webcam idea TOO!!
Wouldn't that be hysterical!?? SignWatch.

You're prolly gonna get some of the rains from Hermine (tropical storm).
We still have Frances to be concerned about too.
BTW folks, if I suddenly "disappear" I'm not being rude. Some 90,000 folks in Central Virginia are already without power. Ours has flickered a couple of times.

Glad you're home, even if you had to swim.
Sigh. I'm home too. My taco meat got mostly burned. I'm eating the sad leftovers.
