Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, this was just a comedy of errors. Nothing big, just a bunch of little stuff.

It is different, but you can tell it's by the same author.
Ugh, Monday of Doom coming up. I've really, really got to get some energy here.

Caffeine begins to help. What I really need is motivation. Because I'm not going to be home until 8 o'clock... so I also need to start dinner and I can't move out of this chair.

Jen! Go make dinner! NOW!
Does that help?
I made a big pot o' chili last night. If necessary, I can live on just that for days. I like one pot meals...

Taco meat in the crockpot now; lunch in my backpack. Just hafta water Spider-plant and I'm good.

That's the way I am with bbq chicken...since the oven is busted, we grill just a ton of the stuff and we eat it all week.

Y'all keepin' an eye on Frances?Yep, but I think you'll get it worse than we will though. Maybe she'll just turn out to sea.

Whoohoo! He made 100%!
I like it because she gives the spelling test. I think I tend to give "hints" in my pronunciation of the words when I give the tests...like "Pee-Opal...people." LOL
She just gives the test and Matthew pauses the tape between words.

Maybe she'll just turn out to sea. Well, hopefully Pat Robertson won't be too distracted by the convention...

Anyone else out there watching the convention? (I've got it streaming on C-SPAN).
The congressional challenger candidates are speaking. I don't know when I've seen such a diverse group...seriesly...African American, Hispanic, men, women...
It's such a crock that the RATS are the "party of diversity."
Heh...and just as I said that "Geoff" Davis from Kentucky stepped up.

Heh...back in 1985, he said he prayed Hurricane Gloria "off of" Virginia Beach. IIRC she went on to do some series damage further up the coast.
In a related note, singer Laura Branigan ~who recorded "Gloria"~ has died of a brain aneurysm.
