Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I don't remember the hypnotic part. I remember at the beginning the sheriff rescues some little girl in shock after her parents get whacked (no sign of the parents) and there's this entymologist and they end up going down into the ant tunnels to gass the buggers.

some of them don't have very distinct personalitiesLet's see, there was the Kid, the Old Campaigner, the Wild Man, the Swordsman, the Cheerful Guy... uhmm, the guy chopping wood, the guy who made the flag... were those last two different people, or were one or both of them the Cheerful Guy? Oh, yeah, there was the Old Campaigner's buddy, too, the guy with the spear.
Is that seven?
To: Overtaxed
Those were giant ants, though, right? That's Them!. Phase IV featured regular-sized but very smart ants.

LOL!
"Columbo" is over. "Sherlock Holmes Mysteries" just started.

Them! was never Mistified? I don't think I sat through the non-commented version.

I've got Red Green Show on. Think maybe I'll put on an MST3K on after.

I think that's seven but I'm not sure. I've been trying to find a complete list and I'm not finding one online.

Nope, they never did Them! They did Beginning of the End, though, featuring giant grasshoppers and Peter Graves.
To: Overtaxed
Which MST3K are you thinking of putting on? If I have it I'll watch it.

Hmmm....I must have provided the commentary then. I've got Beginning of the End and that's not the one I'm talking about.

OK, did some searching. The Seven Samurai were:
Kambei, the leader;
Katsuhiro, the kid;
Kyuzo, the master swordsman;
Shichiroji, Kambei's friend;
Heihachi, the funny guy (he was the one chopping wood);
Gorobei, the chubby one, I think;
and Kikuchiyo, the wild man/fake samurai.
