Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep, the work side of my brain has shut down. Now I'm reviewing all that I want to get done this weekend.
But the trolls are still here, so I gotta stay...

I love that room! It's so big! And so empty!
I want a room just like that. Matter of fact, I want a whole house just like that.
That's all I want.

Joshua absolutely adores his tapes. Loves his kindergarten teacher. Her name is Mrs Lawson and she is soooo sweet and kind acting. His math teacher's name is Mrs. Debois and she's a jovial sort. Before each lesson they speak a few minutes just to the moms, you know? Called "Mom's Minutes". They tell you what you need to have ready for the next lesson. This lady was so sweet, saying the God doesn't give us a task to do that He doesn't give us the ability to do...I nearly cried.
I keep telling myself that, but it's nice to hear someone else say it too!
Matthew's teachers are more like what you expect from older kids teachers. His reading teacher is my favorite...she's just on fire for reading and it really comes through. Very enthusiastic. Get's Matthew all involved in the stories.
They have anecdotes and interesting comments all through the classes...makes them seem like they go really fast. The longest class is 30 minutes long...which really takes quite a while because he has to occasionally pause the tape and do work! Then restart the tape and go over his work. Then they give them "independent work" which is like homework, which Matthew completes before going on to the next class.
It's very fun and organized. So far we all really like it.

I'm holding you ALL responsible.
All this lack of conversation has caused me to end up on a religion AND a Ritalin thread this afternoon.
Help me Obi-wan Kenobe. You're my only hope...

As they say, 'you get what you pay for'.I think a spray-in liner will bring more at resale time, too.

Wife called and may be staying another day in North Carolina. Too many siblings...too many keys to the house. So it depends on when the locksmith can get there.
Anybody interested in a chat view tonight? I gotta work on my web stuff anyway...
I'm heading home. I'll check back later.

I want a medium-sized warehouse. Bed'n'such over
here, kitchen appliances over
there, giant TV and killer sound system down at the end with a comfy couch planted right in front of it...only the sanitary facilities behind walls, and that only 'cuz I might have guests...
...and the garage door leading right into the living space, like on that old TV show Vega$.

At the time of this post, I was on the road between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo. No way to help you. Wish I could have.
Help me Obi-wan Kenobe. You're my only hope...
The horror of imagining you in an Alderaan Princess dress with a Cinnabuns hairdo will take some time to wash out of my psyche.
