The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

There are medications that can reduce the swelling. In humans , build up of pressure can cause pain and blindness. He isn't in any discomfort though is he?

Doesn't seem to be in obvious pain to touch his eye area, but who knows if it is giving him a headache and that is why he's so crabby.

I know he's blind, been blind in that eye for a couple years now.

Is there a way to automatically refresh a page in Explorer?

Not in IE, that I know of. You would have to change to an alternate browser (I use Mozilla Firefox, which has this capability).

"I try to wipe up most of it, but some of it simply likes to dry there!"

Kid's got a way with words...

When if Germany I met a couple (US M.P. and wife)at church...they had a little guy, 3 at the time...they had a car, too, and I didn't...but I knew where the cool stuff was, and they didn't. So the four of us toured Germany on weekends for the next two years...

Three years after that, statoned in Texas, I track them down on the internet...in Arkansas, out of the Army...little guy was 8 by then. I was kids' ministries leader in the tiny Texas church, and two years running took kids from there to summer camp, happened to be in Arkansas...so the second year I called up my old buds and asked if the kid would like to go to camp.

It seldom rained, but heavily dewed...I found the kid during a mid-morning play period sitting in the cabin...I asked if everything was all right, and he said "Yes...

"I was enjoying playing outside, but was ultimately repulsed by my wet shoes."

Kid had a way with words.

Evenin' g'nad - glad to hear yuh decided ta git all skooled up.

Hard to believe the antics of the VA and Tri-Care. A road trip is definitely in order.

Try to stay out of 'detention' will you?

Give our regards to Mrs 'Nad and the youngsters.

Hair - wow - two sick/injured anipals at once. My sympathies and hopes for speedy recoveries. Any chance it's a deeply buried thorn? Hugs all around for Cartman and Gidget.

Well, he wasn't wearing his caulked boots, there is that.

Re Music - I'd vote for acoustic type guitar. Don't need plug-ins or hearing protectors.

If it were my kitty, I'd take it out.

It's not doing him any good, and it's a potential source of infection.

The eyelid will lie flat over the socket (he doesn't have any blink reflex anyway). If it should not, a couple of stitches will put it right.

Talk to your vet, though, he's the man on the spot.

Yeah - I was just kindof exploring my options.... a lot of when I schedule it to come out is whether it's a source of pain now, and if it isn't, then it might depend on what needs done to fix Gidget first. This is the potential problem with too many animals!
