Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Last I heard, she was busy with her daughter and brand new son-in-law. They're getting settled in and working on some domestic issues.
She's doing well, but has been spending a lot of time with family.
ROFL!
Chat view sounds like a fine idea! Any chance it could be a saturday night instead???
You're not the only one who's worn out!
At least I don't need to worry about exercise today, I got in quite enough just getting around campus.
First, let me say that I know there are a number of you who can say "I told you so." I hope you won't.
It's not happy evening in the Stormhand's household. Jr's coach told him this evening that he did not have the credits to play football. Wife had to go pick him up. He is devastated.
There ~may~ be a technicality on what the handbook says. It says "must have five credits in the last semester" He has that, but not for the last year. Wife is checking tomorrow, but I don't give it much hope. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that anyway.
Wife said "we should hold the I told you so comment 'til later. I said "No, the I told you so is for us." We should have ended this when we got the grades from last year. I let her talk me into setting up some study guidelines and other incentives for him. And he has been working with us. But we should have held our ground.
He is understandably crushed. I don't think he ever considered this would be a problem. However, my hope is that now he will finally see who caused this.
~sigh~
Usually extended edition, yes. But if some of us don't have that we can do the theatrical. I forget who has what...
Oh, this really must break your heart, though, Corin...
Will he ever get to play again? Or is he just out for a while or what? (I'm a bit of a moron about this kinda thing, I freely admit.)
Oh, man... that's got to be hard on you all. I'm sorry to hear about that.
*rummage* *rummage*
Now where did I put that coconut brassiere?
He's out for the season. It will be vey difficult to come back next year and play varsity. They may let him. But it gets pretty competitive.
mmm......popcorn!
I'm so thrilled to finally have my very own HH knife! I need to be very careful with the *snap, click* lessons though. I can see how the knife would definitely leave a mark if you're less than cautious.
That's hard. I just feel terrible about it. Quite a blow to the kid, I'm sure...
(((WN)))
Yep...I'm proud of mine too. Like to show it to people...most everyone I know already knows the story behind it...
Oh no! Poor Jr....
I know he has the final responsibility in all of this, but it's never fun to watch the ones you love experience the hard-knock lessons of life.
That's a tough situation. Are there any alternative activities that would stand him in good stead when he's eligible for football again?
Saturday is fine by me!
hehehehe...I've already started telling the tale. Now, should I take it to work and show my boss? *smiling wickedly*
I think this rule may apply to any extra-curricular activities. I don't know if he has a PE class this year or not. He's filled that requirement. So he may or may not have the coach in another class.
