Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
My church holds Patriot Day on the Saturday closest to 9/11. This year it's on 9/11...
Saw a neat children's book today...the story of Phillippe Petit, who tightrope-walked between the towers in 1974. "Now the towers are gone..." which leaves room for a little parent/child Q&A.
Water! I'm melting! Melting. . .
Gee - thanks! Of the four varieties we bought, we are very impressed with the cherry tomato variety, called "sweet million" and the large tomatos called 'celebrity'. The other large variety we got, called "brandywine" (which we wanted to love for it's name) only produced a couple small tomatos and we are not impressed.
I think you have our cool weather! We wondered where it went! We usually don't get enough sun for tomatos, especially where we are in all the trees. that spot where they are is the sunniest spot, but still doesn't get sun till about noon. Next year, I think we are going to try some other kind of raised or container garden there. I want to grow three rows of corn.... need big box ;~D
Hmmm.... what happened that gave it away during the dance?
Finished. Nice ending, though I agree with you in that I don't get where the attraction was for "Baine". I can see why Tossie'd be interested in HIM, but not the other way 'round. But then...that can happen in real life, too. Does happen.
Ya know...a book where everyone ends up neatly paired off isn't that good for me in my current state of mind...
Mine: I thought so too, when she went racing off to the Resting Rock. Eventually I concluded that she's more psychic even than she lets on, though her "sight" is assisted by familiarity with the terrain (as in the race) and can be clouded by fear (as when running through the forest after "seeing" the "creature").
End spoiler.
Gotta get to bed if I'm gonna be fitness hobbit in the morning...
Good night, all!
Aww... ok, read Passage. The result of that is usually a "it could be worse" state of mind.
Watching "The Thomas Crown Affair". My wine hit very hard, I'll be in bed as soon as this is over.
Actually, he won't go back to white. He will remain camouflage until he is ready to test for the next color.
Check the spoiler text :)
Well, that's the central question of the movie isn't it... are you a person who sees signs, or just random events?
COLLEEN: Tell Graham --
GRAHAM: (crying) I'm here.
COLLEEN: (crying) Tell him... See. Tell him to see. (soft) And tell Merrill to swing away.
Graham thought she was just remembering something brought up by the misfiring of the dying neurons in her brain; but later he did "see", and told Merrill to "swing away". So, was it a vision, or a divinely inspired memory? And, does it matter which it was...?
better advice than the bat would have been to say
It was her dying breath, don't know that she could get all that out....
Oh, okay. Different belt systems can be so confusing, LOL!

...and I'm done. See y'all later...like oh-dark-thirty tomorra...
Hair - have had the sweet million ones ourselves in previous years. The Brandywine is an excellent heirloom tomato. We alter varieties and location of the beds often - this year we tried the container varieties but success.
"Our weather" - heh - well, if indeed it was thank you, we appreciated it. Cool weather slid pretty far south this year.
I've just discovered Toon Disney shows the 1990s Spiderman cartoon (the best one, IMO), so I'm watching that. They're doing an episode where Spidey teams up with DD to fight the Kingpin and Smythe's son, who is trying to frame Peter Parker. It's pretty good.
Good point! :~D
Just got back from the Cape. Have pictures of a happy dog frolicking in the surf and a sunset over the Bay.
People are mad at me for being an early riser...my flight leaves at 9:50.
G'night!
