The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

No, we didn't. I recall one discussion amongst the Animooters where we thought about playing, only to realize that we were also the Homeschooled-mooters and none of us would know the "Pop Culture" category. Couple of us were unsure on the "Sports" category, either.

We used to play with our next-door neighbors, who could not be beaten in the Entertainment category. We could get them in Science and History and Sports, though. That was the original edition of the game. I have trouble with Pop Culture in the more recent editions, since I don't watch TV or listen to new music like I used to.

So you renting any movies tonight?

I've never played Trivial Pursuit very much... a few times when it first came out, years ago.

We used to have some friends with whom we played Illuminati: New World Order.

I had some D&D friends who used to play that, but I never got around to playing it with them. How is it?

Anyone remember that one?

Yes, but not fondly.

It's great, especially if you're a conspiracy nut with a sense of humor.

I loved to make up theme decks based on some whacked-out conspiracy theory...

Who names their boat "BUMPO" anyway?

LOL! That one I never saw. But for some reason the title strikes me as designed by Bill Clinton's attorney. . .

"Yes, but not fondly."

Heh. The only redeeming things about it were the underwater scenes, Bo Derek, and the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone.
