Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Doomsday Book used the bell-geek stuff well, though! You don't have to care about bells to appreciate it there.
This movie's not one to watch on your own, after dark. It's pretty intense. Good thing the sun doesn't go down for another couple hours here.

Cool!
I've decided I'm too clutzy to use a bike for transport. I've fallen off on bike paths. If I fell of into traffic... no fun. And that goes double for mountain bikes, falling off a cliff is not a good plan.

I used to love bike riding. Then I got my first car.
Haven't ridden since 1985. Haven't done anything intensely physical since 1999.
I seriesly need to get back into some sort of shape. My cousin says he'll lend me a bike...he wants to do some sort of touristy ride around P.E.I. next year. Bech.

I'm working on getting into shape! Haven't done any real exercise in the last two days because it's been raining. But I suppose I'm getting somewhere. Hopefully the diet helps...

Codename Doughboy is at it again. He borrowed/rented a baby cat-lookin' front loader thing and has scoured half of his backyard. He has also recently stripped *all* of the low-hanging branches off the trees between our properties so nothing obscures the view anymore. He regraded under the trees- up to and over the property line. I think he is going to try to plant grass there. But seeing as how it won't grow anywhere else in his yard, I'm not hopeful that this new project is going to be an improvement on the view. Big'ol was taking pictures while all of this was going on and he sent them to me at work. Grrrr...

I gotta get them off of Big'ol's work computer. Mrs. Doughboy is out there right now helping him rake dirt. (???) As usual she is doing most of the work. He spends most of his time leaning on his rake gasping for air. Gonna have to dial 911 any minute.

I'm here! Hubby just went to a men's homeschooler meeting...where they all sit around talking about how they support us while we actually do it all. LOL I'm just kidding, they're a bunch of good men.
Was just thinking what a nice person you are!

Jedis and I actually went over what to do if they needed to call 911 today. It's good to go over it now and then with 'em.

Ooh...that looks kinda cool!
I used to be wayyy into mountain biking, and much too much of a gearhead. Actually read the bike magazines that talked unobtanium parts that weighed so many ounces less than the standard, and knew all the brands.
I DID ride, too, but...I was much more into specs than I shoulda been.
Now I don't even have a bike. *snif* One of these days I'll get back into that.
For now, I'm planning for snowshoes, though.

PEI is gorgeous! And that'd be a nice way to see it. I wouldn't rule it out!
We're hoping to go next summer. We'll probably stop halfway at the campground in Maine, since they said they'd give us a free stay if we performed...

Oh you have no idea. He is the most dense, uncouth, unthoughtful, aggravating neighbor ever. If you remember
The Burbs you know there's always "one" in every neighborhood. Only the sad part is, he works hard on his place... it just looks worse after every project. If a sitcom were ever made about this guy, it'd be a cross between Forrest Gump and Home Improvement.
(He also looks like a sunburned stack of refrigerator biscuits).
