The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hi! Yeah, I'm around, was just looking up something in my library's online card catalog. How are you tonight?

No no no!!! Not supposed to be fading fast when I've just gotten here!

BTW, I am just a little slow brainwise lately. After you asked about dinner next Thursday night I realized that I shoulda just told you "Yes, I will be there." I'll bring Myranda and if Sharon is working he'll just miss out this time. I'm ready for a moot. :-)

Of course I didn't engage my brain about that till after I went to bed that night. :-)

I guess maybe I'll have to learn more about the schmoozing salesman end of it if I want to do that.

Or be willing to give a percentage to someone who is good at the schmoozing. I don't mind, because the salesman part of it holds no interest for me. I'd rather play with the computer code.

Evenin' folks. Just checkin' in briefly. We gots the movie on. (ROTK)

Hair - we're gonna be out of here by 10 in the a.m. and will likely stop for breakfast. We can probably be at the pier around between 11-12 our time. I'll give you a call. If it works, it works.

ecurbh/g'nad - I'll vote in the poll tomorrow night. Don't want to try the forum from here (and Jr. is lookin' over muh shoulder wantin' his laptop back). June is prolly best for us, but we'll just have to see what everyone else says and what happens with school, choir tour etc. If the timing was just right, I'd already be halfway there at my college reunion in Kentucky.

g'nite folks.

I'm tired! It's been a busy and long day but I'm sitting up waiting for Myranda & hubby to get here from Austin. It'll be another hour and a half before they get here. Hope I can stay awake!

Friday night works for us, too, don't forget.

I went to the doctor today and got some new drugs medicines. Hopefully these will knock out whatever's been bugging me for the past month.

Yah... the wifi troubles are many-rooted. The waterin' hole here has a really sucky wayport connection. Even when wayport is good, it sucks. About every tenth refresh you have to re-login because their roamserver is a POS. But... over the last some weeks I think I'm developing a motherboard problem (cracked? dunno) on the trusty laptop. So my own wifi card has a shaky PCMCIA connection in the first place... wiggle it and down it goes.

time for Ramius to get a new machine. methinks.

Now I'm on try number three to get this posted. [sigh]

Okay, then we'll say Thursday OR Friday for now.

I have to go to WF Tuesday night and work for a bit on Wednesday. I'll be driving back to home country on Wednesday when I finish working though. I will see what works best for the kids. Might be that I would like a day off driving on Thursday anyway. 200 miles 3 days in a row is not bad - but I might want a break.

Well... I just *love* the serrated version. I would really prefer it... can we get a batch of serrated again?

Well, ya got it posted on the 3rd try at least. :-)

Hate to hear about the problem with your own laptop but a new one doesn't sound half bad either. :-)

I looked at new cars this morning.... :-D

Actually, I think you can get another serrated. The serrated ones can't be shipped to the troops, if I recall, they aren't allowed.
