The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Id say Nathaniel could be the inroad for bored lonely housewives dont you?

Or am I mistaking this conversation altogether (like usual?)

I've watched a couple I actually liked. Otherwise the only time I've had 'em on was when I was too lazy to change the channel :)

"Id say Nathaniel could be the inroad for bored lonely housewives dont you?"

Hmmm--does he stand against soap opera stereotypes?

Yep, that's exactly the type of stereotype Dr. Stereotype tries to perpetuate, which my hero would crusade against: all Grannies do *not* belong to motorcycle gangs!

Hey Texas...got batteries?

Just a few, my reserves are low. BTW, that big sucker on the right is a NiCad type. It'll run a flashlight for maybe two months.

You haven't seen the Monty Python skit about the Granny gangs? They interview a grandson who says something like: "It all started with the crochet. She'd cash her check and spend it all on yarn. Soon she was up to two balls a day."

Hello and goodbye!

Can't stay since tomorrow is Becky's first day in 1st grade and I'm doing all I can to make sure to falls asleep within the next 10 minutes. I've spoiled her over the summer and now is the difficult task of getting her back on schedule.

Alyson is wound up and bouncing around in her crib, so I'll have to figure out a way to settle her in as well.

*sigh* I'm so tired that I could sleep sitting in this chair.

Good night everyone! See you in the A.M.!

No, I don't think I've seen that skit, LOL! Maybe that's a sign I need to rent some "Python" episodes. . .

I've been looking for a script for that sketch. Maybe ecurbh knows where one is.

It's about a gang of grannies hanging out together and terrorizing people.

Does anyone know of a link that describes how to draw tables/flowcharts in the type of html format used for posting on FR? I'm writing a series of articles that describe John Kerry's relationship with various Communist organizations and I'd like to add some tables and flowcharts summing up some of the information. If anyone knows a good link that explains how to do that I'd appreciate it.

Shouldn't that be "Crochet is a gateway craft"?

Watched "Identity". Now that was a disturbing little film...

Tables are easy. Any basic HTML guide will say how. I don't think you can do flowcharts. Make a gif of it and paste that.

Woot! Samurai 7 episode 7 is downloading now!

"Shouldn't that be "Crochet is a gateway craft"?"

ROFL! Which raises the question of whether crochet is an art or a science. . .

What's "Identity" about?

I figure tables can't be too hard. Can't do flowcharts, though?--that's a bummer. Maybe I can just hand-draw the arrows in a table then like this: ----> Won't let me draw any vertical arrows that way but I guess I'll have to make due.

I'm guessing "Samurai 7" is one of these shows I'm going to need to get DSL to watch. . .

Some show called "Megas XLR" is on now. It looks kind of anime-ish in style and has giant robots but the characters are Western.
