The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

They have really bad teeth and it makes them cranky?

Austin Powers:

Is there something in my teeth?

Yikes! Sounds like you practically built a whole new home, LOL! Maybe instead of shopping for new house pics you can just remodel your home every few weeks :)

Congrats on the new job! I've been to Elma, I think it's cute, even if it is pretty podunk. That's kind of a long commute, but at least it's probably a reverse commute.

Hope the home business picks up nicely, that would be a great setup for you!

Grrr--one thing I really hate is when you're one move away from beating the computer at chess and you misclick the mouse. . .

I found some really cool and addicting (and simple) games on popcapgames.com.

I started with Typer Shark, just to test my typing skills, but now I've moved on to Insaniquarium. *grin*

Hi there Ruthee!! I dunno what's wrong with them. Yes, they had a couple of problems develop this week, all of which were fixed... like this morning when their file server was down for about an hour until we got it running again... the server had powered down apparently due to a power loss overnight that exhausted the UPS. It powered itself back up but the network card barfed. By the time we got our IT guy to reboot the thing they'd already set out a series of really ugly nastygrams to the CEO, the COO, and the CFO... so my phone starts ringing at 0-dark-early. By that time it had been long since fixed before I was even awake. But they sent some really poisonous stuff... and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why they're so mean. We've done nothing to them but bend over backward to help them.

I don't get it.

I swear he was in line ahead of me at the DMV today.

I can do better than that... I shared an office for six months with a guy who, except for hair color, was Milton.

Good evening...

Milton *sounds* right... but I don't remember...

Office space hits just a little too close to home for me. I can only watch half the movie at a time. :-)

I'm looking at the site now. Do they just sell games or can you play them on the site somewhere?

Hi there!

Life's been busy, as usual. It's pouring down rain out here after several weeks of beautiful sunny weather. We're flooding all over the place, but it feels SO refreshing!

How're you doing? I was reading about your fun with Milton at the DMV! ;)
