The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The "Best Sessions" are six episodes. I watched three tonight and am saving three for tomorrow.

I don't drive after drinking even a sip, but I've never had one glass of wine do anything noticable to me. As soon as it's more than one glass, though...

Most wine doesn't hit me that hard. This was some imported Italian stuff and apparently it was pretty strong.

What were the three "Bebop" episodes?

This MST3K is vey silly :) The captain just informed the crew that their ship is off-course and they're headed towards [dramatic pause] Mars. Crow: "You mean as in the candy bar?"

Hmmm, as I'm thinking about this I'm thinking a book on the history of "weapons control" attempts might be a way to make a historical argument against gun control. Have you seen any books along those lines?

There are many books and studies along that line. One of the latest is "The Cowboy, the Mounty, and the Samurai". Author escapes my name, but I'm sure the NRA web site has lots of "ammo" along those lines.

It's hard to recover from some of these movies--I'm still healing from "Manos" for instance.

Fell asleep during Ben Hur last night. I've got Treasure of the Sierra Madre for today.

Good Morning, Hobbitses!

I've got the coffee on and am seeing how much local news I can stand before I put the movie on.

Good Morning All; beautiful ~ summer?~ morning. Walk done, coffee on, enjoying a cinnamon knot from Price Chopper. :-) quite a treat.

TofSM - kewl - "Batges? We dun gotta schow you no steenkin' batges." Classic line - useful more many social situations. :-)

Volunteer Silvas coming on nicely, got three now; toad lilies blooming and four volunteer sunflowers starting to fill out, birds will be by shortly.

EGE: that was a good tip for the globe repair kit.

G'nad; did a bit a shapin' on the 'sage stave, think it might work out.
Hair; good plan for the 'back forty'. Keep us posted.

Got sidetracked reading another hurricane thread. I'll make some more coffee and put the movie on.

It's doing old newsreels now. I've got Treasure of the Sierra Madre with commentary, but I think I'll save it for tomorrow.

Guess I could work on my NaNoWriMo plot. I still have an Evil Toaster that hasn't been appeased yet.

In other news, the NC sister is supposed to leave today on the trek north stopping in DC to pick up the piano sister.

When do you leave?

Ugh, I haven't even started to think about November. I'll probably whip up a plot last week of September... it will be a good thing to do over Thanksgiving.

Hehehe...I always like those lab scenes in the movies. They always have their glassware set up wrong.
