The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Nah .. read the writeup. He kept skipping out on his wife and "marrying" these chickie-poos. When the chickie-poo got pregnant, he would give the kids last names that were anagrams of "Pembroke."

The restrictions were not at all intended to discourage fighting arts in general in England, but to prevent street-fighting among young “sword-men” bravados and to prevent any training in arms of common thugs and ruffians who did not have the desired social conscience to responsibly bear arms safely in good society.

And we see once again that "weapons control" only disarms the law-abiding. They never learn, do they? The elite and the criminals get the weapons they want, the little folks get caught in the middle.

Hmmm, as I'm thinking about this I'm thinking a book on the history of "weapons control" attempts might be a way to make a historical argument against gun control. Have you seen any books along those lines?

I often use that excuse, except in my case it doesn't take two beers! :)

I'd never get my wits fuddled by beer... I can't stand the smell of it... but give me an ounce of vodka mixed with something fruity and I'm out... though I can manage a glass and a half of wine at this point.

And believe it or not I haven't had anything this evening. I'm kind of tired, but it's too hot to sleep and I'm too cheap to turn the AC on.

My tolerance is pretty low because I never drink much stronger than wine coolers. I had one glass of strong red wine the other day and felt like falling asleep.

So'd ya finish "Bebop"? I'm still in my MST3K fest here.
