The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Speaking of The Terminator, we're watching it on AMC.

The current generation of Titans were in a team together before, called Young Justice. Events that ended that team provide a lot of the initial tension in this new Teen Titans.

Hmmmm...I dunno if I have any ginger root.

I have this cuban-style chamomile tea with anise. That should work.

I hope! This is a terrible feeling!

Think I'll make some tea here in a bit. Or maybe some hot chocolate. If it's going to be cold again tomorrow night, I should get some Bailey's on the way home from work tomorrow.

"Terminator" is one of those movies I can watch over and over.

I was wondering if there had been some prior storyline with some of the characters. Seemed like there was some prior history being alluded to. Was Wonder Girl previously involved with Kid Flash/Impulse and/or the new Superboy?--seemed like it!

FMA: I'm wondering how old they both are: Dante and Light. I'm starting to think that they may be what eventually became the gods of the two religions, the one with Leto and the other one that Lyra was showing Rose the church of and there has been some struggle going on for hundreds of years between these two.

But I'm probably way off base.......but that comment of Lyra's - that humans cannot become gods - is nagging at me. End FMA.

Now to start downloading some Samurai 7.

Yup, Cassie (Wonder Girl) and Connor (Superboy) did have the start of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship... Bart (Impulse) had sort of a crush on her. Apparently, the event that broke up the Young Justice team (a multi-part crossover story ending in the death of Donna Troy) put a lot of tension between Cassie and her teammates, especially Connor.

I didn't read that story, though, so I'm not sure of all the details!

Now that's an interesting theory!

I'd say they're several hundred years old, at least. Dante made Greed, who was sealed for 130 years, so I'd guess she's minimum 160, probably more. Hohenheim remembers how the valley looked over a hundred years ago, and it really seems like he's the elder or at least more knowledgable of the two. I'm still not sure if he's evil or not. Stealing bodies is generally a Bad Thing; but on the other hand he's not quite the devil I'd imagined him to be. (Guess we can't trust Ed's judgment on everything). As to the "become gods" thing, that could just be a reference to the continuing theme that humans are humans, faliable and weak and continually screwing up.

Ok: so who's Hohenheim's Sin? Envy seems most likely but I'm wondering if perhaps Pride (the Leader) might be instead.

Let me know how you like Samurai 7! I love the character designs on that show. It has incredibly lavish artwork...

Hey folks, how's everyone doing? I am waiting up for the 11 pm advisory on Charlie. I don't know if I'll make it though ;-)

I didn't know about all that, either, but it sounded like it had to be something like that. Donna Troy's death was mentioned, too. I have some catching up to do!

I need to find that story too... hopefully it was repackaged as a GN.

Signing off early tonight, have a good night all.

Evenin'! *yawn* Oh, excuse me...

Yep, I'm back a day early. It wouldn't stop raining over there, so we packed it in this morning and evacuated.

Have I missed much (besides a daily Freep and stuning of the beeber)?

I don't think we'll see any serious weather. We'll get some wind and rain. Right now we are under a tornado watch, but we'll see.

evening, trini and ruthie, stay safe down there, our tampa et al offices are closed tomorrow, so we know it could be serious.

Corin: the Attic?!, stay safe as well.

OT: got the second yellow canna blooming nicely and the red one looks like it will be coming on soon, despite the temperatures. The red one is a taller one, bout 5 feet or so.

Hi trini!!

Trying to watch over here too. I'm gonna go lay down for a while cuz my stomach is killing me.

Bear and osage - thanks for the well wishes. We'll be A-OK! Pray for them folks in Tampa though. A Cat 3 is no joke!

How are ya? Usually I am the first to panic and try to leave town because I am really paranoid about these storms (I've never experienced a hurricane), but this time I am not really worried; it is forecast to hit west of us and we should only see some tropical storm conditions.

Prayin' for all of your safety there in the Hurricane state!

They are fascinating. I would love to see one someday.... But as a weather field-trip... like a hurricane and tornado safari.

When you get some wind.... take some pics, would be fascinated to see what it looks like.
