Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I don't know if the two are the same. Next time you go somewhere larger, check out the ethnic foods section. Curry paste and coconut milk are both Thai foods. So's sriachi sauce, actually.
They may actually have it at the natural foods place...I've never really looked before. That's where I go for most ethnic foods...that or the big Shaw's grocery across the river in Littleton, NH.
Good morning.
I'm awake now.
Sorta.
I think I'm in trouble when school starts again. My sleep clock is not on work ethic.
Good morning, sleepyhead!
I've got my clock set on permanent early at this point. Not sure I like that. I've been getting up before six so I can fit in a walk before work...but days like today when I didn't WANT to get up that early, that's annoying. I still wake up at 5:45 and might as well get up 'cause I can't sleep.
When does school start?
I hope so, because curry powder really isn't the same thing. I'm not sure how it would turn out - if you try it anyway, let me know.
Heh... you know for about 10 years I woke up at 4:30 or 5 every morning. It was hard for me to reset my internal clock to sleep later when I started teaching. Heh... now, this summer, I've *really* reset the clock. LOL
My Uncle Lynn is so sweet though. Every morning there is coffee preset to come on about 8 or 9 so I have hot coffee when I wake up. Man, could I ever get spoiled to this!
I have to return to work August 23. A week of (ick) meetings and then school starts on the 30th.
I'll check on the way home from work tonight!
Let me know how it turns out!
I think it's the same here...we're gonna have students here vey soon, since they have some introductory stuff first. One more week of quiet, just about...
Our classes start the 23rd. People are starting to trickle back in.... the secretaries are hunting down all the faculty, and the foreign students have begun to arrive. Everyone's surprised but glad that I was willing to start work two weeks early. (I didn't have anything else to do, and that's money, after all)
Jen, I don't think I'm going to make it to Colorado after all. The friend that I was going with leaves this Saturday and I'm still invited.... but I have spent so much money getting things settled with Myranda and her husband in the last couple of weeks that I just don't have the money to make the trip with her.
I am sad that I don't get to come... but, I just don't see how I can do it. I have one dollar and a bunch of change in my purse right now. I don't think that would feed me well enough for a week!
Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but financial things, you can't change.
If you are ever up here, let me know. I'll cook a nice spicy curry ;-)
Yep, life is gonna get a lot more hectic week after next. I have really been spoiled this summer to all this time off. I have missed the extra money I get from teaching summer school.... but hey, money just don't compare with having time with family and friends!!!
If I'd been teaching summer school I would not have gotten the week with my grandkids or had this time to help Myranda and her husband out. Plus, I would have missed all the great talks I've had with my old friends here.
Money can't buy that stuff. :-)
No, you're absolutely right. I think your priorities are in order here.
I am sure I'll be up there at some time. I have such good friends in Colorado Springs. The one good thing since I moved to north Texas is that it's now only about a 6 hour drive to visit them. I have driven up there more often since I've been in WF.
One of my friends here has pointed out to me a number of times that having this time off is my reward for working my tail off raising my kids right for so many years. He keeps pointing out friends of ours who have kids Jill's age still living at home. LOL
Okay, Aunt Cheryl and I are fixin' to watch Cold Mountain. I hadn't wanted to see it.... but she insists I will like it. So, I'm gonna see.
I've heard the soundtrack is good. Don't know what I'd think of the movie, though. Let us know if it's any good!
Almost time to go... crossing my fingers that I can wangle a day off tomorrow. And my new debit card finally came, yay, so I am going to stop by the bank on the way and activate it.
OK, just talked to my youngest brother, and he's in need of some cheering up. I asked him over for dinner and to play some music, so hopefully this'll be edible. ;-)
Brothers make good guinea pigs!
