The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ok, was that pathetic or what? Bwahahaha.... they couldn't even get to the pit stop. Phil looked rather horrified that they weren't playing the game any more.

Somewhere in San Antonio, on file on a military base, there is a dosimeter with my name on it ...

LOL! They are very irritable. I was out of birdseed so I put horse grain out there instead. They don't like it.

Ehh, cut the guy some slack, he could barely walk... I don't blame 'em for not continuing once they saw all the other digs had been completed...

I wonder what happened to get his knees in such bad shape?

I'm sure this could be made to happen. I know of some testing already underway in Afghanistan that has apparently been quite successful. Without releasing anything secret, I think can hint that it is a sort of garment that provides very much improved body cooling effects. Reports from the field are positive. Beyond that, I'll see what I can do... :-)

Oh, I don't blame him. Or rather, I blame his brother more for just giving up. Even if you can't possibly win it seems wrong to just quit. At least they could have made a show of looking for the scarab. Whatever the heck that is ;-p

Maybe it's some kind of sword...?

Holy cow, I just heard on the news they're expecting a crowd of anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 people Friday evening, about two blocks away from where I'm working.

I think I'll need to leave early Friday...

Okay, it finished downloading. It took me a minute to get used to her voice, but after the music picks up it's cool. Part of it kinda reminds me of oi music, but it's mixed with girl band music with some slow parts for a good medley. Seems like more music to dance to than to sing to, but of course that's probably partly because I don't know the lyrics. Is "Spiral--Suiri no Kizuna" the name of the anime that's from?

Trivial but cool new info on this FR software update:

The number of ~views~ of a thread.

The thread view totals appear to only be the view count ~after~ the point he built that feature, because the next previous thread and the earlier ones are obviously not right ;~D

Yeah. "Spiral" is the name you'd look for info under. The rest means something like "Lines of Reasoning" or "Logic". It's really strange.

Um, yeah, it's music to scrub dishes to, I think, but not shouting the "Hai! Hai! Hai!" bits is hard.

You really oughta get faster internet, dude. I can give you links to where you can download all of FMA... plus other, unlicensed stuff. Like Samurai 7.

Ok, why is the view-to-post ratio so much higher for thread 13? Is it an omen?

Fabulous pic with you in that helmet!

You said you wanted more pictures of us guys wearing hats? Does that count? If you think it's better than my present [cough, cough] picture at the website, you could use it there.

Yeah I know I need faster Internet. Gotta see who around here provides it.

I'll have to see what "Spiral" is about. BTW I need to find you the "New Teen Titans" opening theme. It's very anime-ish.

It does count as a hat, and I ~do~ think it's a fabulous pic for the website, the website guy is workin' in a bubble right now... but I think when he comes out he'll prolly agree!
