Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hmm, it would still work, if there was a third storm named "Prince".
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, I learned that the heartbreaking way too...I downloaded Dynomite and only have 3 plays left. *snif*

It's available to purchase, but they're just a diversion and I can't see spending $20 bucks on it.

RE: Zuma - The same thing happened with Insaniquarium. I think I reached the furthest you can go because now all it does is give me free trials over and over. No upper levels or new pets. *sigh* And THAT one hasn't released the downloadable version yet anyway...

Here's the location... our building is the long one in front of the cooling tower. (Not the big one with the reactor cores on each side.)

WAMU support, eh? That's funny... I have WAMU online banking and I had a most unsatisfactory problem a few years ago...

But lately things have been much better. :-)

    Evening all;

Bear and Overtaxed: yes Gypsy girl has both of us well trained, morning and evening.

Ramius; good evening to you.

Corin; don't rightly know 'bout rhododenrenons. Course if the plants are turning yellow you might ping g'nad.

It's Washington State's famous "whoops" project. I can't remember the original initials, something like WPSS or WPPS, but "whoops" was the most appropriate term for it. Our tax dollars at work building a never-to-be-finished nuke plant.

Ecurbh, I can't believe they have regular offices out there! :o And does this mean if I have problems with WAMU online banking I can call and harrass you?

To: Penny1
I interviewed for a job at a nuke plant, once... they flew me in, walked me around to about 4 different managers, etc., etc. Would have been an interesting job!

This is the opening for one of the anime I saw at the club on Saturday. I'm utterly unclear on what the anime was about and am working my way through the episodes - I either like it or hate it - but the opening is cheerful and upbeat J-pop. I dare you not to want to sing along.

I worked out there a loooooooong time ago right after they finally shut the door on it, still under construction. My job then was to go into each office, make a copy of every piece of paper in it, label it: "Jones, office space 100 - top left desk drawer". Boxes and boxes and boxes of fodder for the lawsuits.

Well, as Penny said, it's no longer (never was, actually) a nuke plant. The power company lost their shirt on the boondoggle, and it was never finished. There's a couple of office buildings and a Boise Cascade manufacturing plant out there. During our orientation, they said it was an ideal location because it was cheap, and was all set up with power, water, fiber optic internet connection, etc.
Those cooling towers are HUGH, though. Hard to describe how huge, you kind of have to see them in person to grasp the magnitude. They sit off the ground on these large concrete stuts, so the tower itself doesn't even begin until about 50 feet in the air.

I dare you not to want to sing along.I accept that challenge!
Not to my taste, sorry...

To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I bet that would have been interesting, was it an actual functioning plant? As opposed to ours, which just looks interesting but is completely and totally useless (the plant, not the call center!)
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I was only daring people whose tastes that is....

And anyone else on HHD who likes to write :
I just found this through an LJ community. Its called Zoetrope Virtual Studio. Its a kind of online writers community where people can submit their stories for review, and it has, from what I have read, expanded to include storyboard artists and various other writers.

But lately things have been much better. :-) Yeah, some of the other folks there said there were some improvements to WAMU's servers several months ago that have made things run much more smoothly.
