The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

But the sales tax and state income tax are less than they were in PA. My apartment rent is high, but food is less, so it works out... sorta...

Anyway I'm leeching off the taxpayers for the next few years so I can't complain too much.

Why didja bother to get a CO license and plates? Parents moving and not leaving a forwarding address or something?

Neverwinter Nights is one of the best games I've ever played. I have stayed up all night playing the original game. I haven't tried the later games in the series yet. But what's really cool about it is you can design your own modules. My brother and I are using the shell to design some of our own video games.

Nice pics--the last one is especially cute. Heh, the pose in the second one reminds me of one of the poses Spiderman often strikes when he's about to sling his web, except in this case it's a bowling ball :)

That's a pretty funny dream :) It figures Ruthy was too busy to help--probably playin' video games, I bet. . .

I'm guessing it's for residency purposes.

Nope. Registering my car helps establish Colorado residency for next year. Which qualifies me for in-state tuition. If I don't get that, I have to come up with, oh, $15,000, because the department only offers one year of out-of-state tuition remission.

However my parents have offered to keep me on the insurance, thank goodness. I wouldn't have been able to stay within my budget otherwise.

Yep, I like that one. I just ordered two 5x7s of it from York. I'll give one to Celeste (that's her kids with mine.)

Cost me $2.77 including shipping! I don't think that's too bad!

But I've seen about as many Republican signs as Democrat ones in lawn

Ya know...I drove all the way across the state here on Friday when I went to pick up my littlest sis over near Burlington...if you go any further west, you end up in Lake Champlain. And I saw quite a few political signs...all Republican. I didn't see ANY Kerry or other Democrat signs. Bumper stickers, yeah...but nothing more pronounced.

I'm still making up my mind whether that means that there are fewer liberals here than some would have you think, or if it just means they're so bummed out that Dean didn't get nominated that they haven't bothered to put anything else up yet.

"No, I was expecting some liberosity"

I had to look up to see if that was a real word :)

Making up words is a well-established tradition. I could have used "liberality" but that doesn't have the connotations I want; and "liberal-ness" doesn't sound as good.

$2.77 sounds like a pretty good price for that!

Today I have to figure out an anniversary present for my parents. I find it easy to pick out birthday presents for them separately because I know their individual interests, but a lot more challenging to pick out something they both like. I usually end up picking a board game (which they like to play) or movie, but I'm out of board game ideas and I can't think of a good movie. Any ideas, anyone?

"Making up words is a well-established tradition."

It has a long neologacy :)

Gotch. I'd think a voter registration card and license would do as well, for a lot less. That's what I did here. I never did change the plates on my car. The dealership looked at me funny when I handed over the title. Duh, dude. It's pink, where'd you think the term pink slip came from. LOL
