My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Sleeping In The Forest

I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.

Good morning, Sam!!
WOW fantastic poem this morning!!!Perfect graphic, too.
Thank you so much for all you give to the Lair.
I'll get to the tunes later on, my laptop has nothing to play them with. Have to go back to the MAC and designing the booklet. The tunes will break up the boredom of work..

It isn't often that I bring my personal life into the Canteen. But since so many of you are my extended family I wish to share something that happened to my grandson (hockey star) as many of you know.
He and his friend had left home in N.Y. to head for college in Canada. They had driven hundreds of miles to the town in which they will live. They located their living quarters.
My grandson then drove to the ice to practice.
He drove the car into the lot, parked the car and a wheel fell completely off.

An Angel on my grandson's shoulder
Invisible to the human eye
Sent by God to spare this boy
God knows the reason why
When I think of all the things that
could have happened to him
I close my eyes and look upward
to thank the unseen guardian.
A grateful grand mom sends a Thank You God
and prays for the unseen ones
to ride the shoulders of
our beloved sons and daughters
in far off sandy lands
to keep those loving children
in the Father's hands.

I know, I caught that, but still.
YIKES.
Had to be Divine intervention.

Considering that tires tend to push outward away from the car, especially in turns, the only explanation is that there was Divine Intervention.

Had to be Divine Intervention when my brother rolled a friend's car on Rte 209 near Huguenot NY.
He bounced like a ball inside the car 'cause the seatbelt came undone.
(It wasn't bolted to the car, didn't matter if the driver wore it or not.)
Interestingly, he didn't have a scratch, just a few bumps and dizzier than Loopy the squirrel.
(Which is normal for my brother. Sis can verify that.)

There was also the time he knocked himself out on
the ONLY patch of ice in the driveway. It was about
the size of a playing card. He slipped, flipped, hit
his chin & landed on his back, out cold. I wouldn't
say that's divine intervention, but it was impressive.

My goodness, it's a wonder he (your brother) didn't wind up with a fractured skull.
To: bentfeather; Darkchylde
We suspect he did, just he hasn't figured it out yet.
