You and I should both have grown up in the '40s. :)
Morning!
Good morning, sir .. am considering your coffee this morning. It was that kind of weekend. How are you?
Feeling weird.
Had odd inspiration while drawing, had two poems pop out of my head, and now I have fragments flying in formation.
*ugh*
But, other than the mind clutter, I feel great.
Coffee sounds like a capital idea.
Will be back in a bit.
"I Am Not Yours"
by Sarah Teasdale
I am not yours, not lost in you,
Not lost, although I long to be
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea.
You love me, and I find you still
A spirit beautiful and bright,
Yet I am I, who long to be
Lost as a light is lost in light.
Oh plunge me deep in love -- put out
My senses, leave me deaf and blind,
Swept by the tempest of your love,
A taper in a rushing wind.
Morning!!!!
Lovely day here Darksheare. YOU?
LOL. I'm 50 and Glenn Miller is before my time too! I enjoy history and always imagined living in earlier times. I think good music transcends time. I enjoy some classical music too. There was good music in every era.
But in my skin you are with me
even though you can not see
the sobbing in the heart of me
because I love you so
Ms. Feather - you brought tears to my eyes with this poem.
I know I walk this path alone
I have no place to call my own
Darksheare, this is lovely - if sad.
Morning Colonel! Been missing seeing you around! HUGS!!
Weird, but otherwise in nominal running condition.
Thanks!
Was doing a drawing, and had an odd image pop into my head.
(Along with the poem[s])
Saw a guy in a battered duster, and a stray cat, and they were one and the same.
Like those movie sequences where a flash of lightning shows something to not be what it appears.
Good morning, Star :) How are the both of you doing today? I had relaxing weekend with my kids and tried to recover from last week!
FUN!!!
Glad you could acton your inspiration! :o)
Doing well, although I am feeling quite lazy. That's not good - I have a lot to accomplish!
It was rather easy.
There was paper readily available, and I didn't think a thing while Ms Muse was talking.
She didn't seem to notice any change in my scribbling.
Otherwise she might have grinned and taken off.
"TREASURES"
There are treasures in life,
but owners are few
Of money and power
to buy things brand new.
Yet you can be wealthy
and feel regal too,
If you will just look
for the treasures in you.
These treasures in life
are not hard to find
When you look in your heart,
your soul, and your mind.
For when you are willing
to share what's within,
Your fervent search
for riches will end.
The joy and the laughter,
the smile that you bring;
The heart unafraid
to love and to sing;
The hand always willing
to help those in need;
Ones quick to reach out,
to labor and feed.
So thank you for sharing
these great gifts inside;
The caring, the cheering,
the hug when one cried.
Thanks for the energy,
encouragement too,
And thank you for sharing
the treasures in you.

Neat.
Thanks.
My mom is 54, so she's not quite old enough either. She
remembers Her parents dancing to Glenn Miller & others
in the livingroom. The Andrews Sisters, DeCastro Sisters,
McGuire Sisters, The Dorsey Brothers... those kinds. I love
listening to the 40's, the music was better than today's. All the
female vocalists looked & sounded unique, not all like Britney
Spears or something worse. Now everyone wants to be the same.
You KILT it!
