[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Zebra Questions



I asked the zebra
are you black with white stripes?
or are you white with black stripes?
and the zebra asked me,
Is a sandwich bread with filling in it?
or filling with bread around it?
Is the sky blue with cloudy patches?
or is it cloudy with blue patches?
Is a witch mean with evil ways?
or is she evil with mean ways?
Is a friesian black with white patches?
or is it white with black patches?
Is a circle a ring with space in it?
or is it space with a ring around it?
Is a tiger brown with yellow stripes?
or is it yellow with brown stripes?
And on and on and on and on,
and on he went.
I'll never ask a zebra
about stripes
Again.

Good morning everyone!
Oh my!! How wonderful to see you all have opened the doors of the Lair.
Of course, the "doors" are never closed.
I started waking up today at 6:00 a.m. LOL finally made it out of bed at 10:00.
It's lousy weather here and the bed felt so good.
Thank you all for giving the Lair the best there is - your poetry from the heart and the tears of your soul.

Writing when your heart is aching must be a strong calling around here. I wrote most when I was sad and only able to write occassionally when I'm happy. I think when I am happy I am too busy enjoying the time to write!
