Purty good quote I just read...

"We are pretty stupid critters who are lucky to have gotten as far as we have, and most of that was by trial-and-error. The notion that we are so smart that we can engineer societies or tinker usefully with the climate system of a class-M planet is ludicrous."

My take on "global climate change" is pretty simple: What evidence is there that climate has ever remained static at *any* time in knowable history? Climate changes. Yes it does.

The operative question is: if we could affect it, which way would we prefer that it changes? The one thing it will not do is stay the same.

Out of curiosity, where did that come from? "Class-M Planet" is a very very Star Trek reference - has it become an actual scientific term?
