Corin - jeepers, that was heap was runnin' around. Doubt I could get it done in a weekend.
Virginia waterleaf might be appropriate for a shady spot, primrose is nice but seems to attract slugs and I know you have a better use for malt beverages than filling slug traps. :-)
If you have a sunny spot, for something different, try a mullien, aka flannel plant to Ozarkians. They're biennals, bloom the second year with an impressive stalk of yellow flowers. The mulliens also tolerate most any kind of dirt-type material.

Wow.... That Eisenhower one is hilarious! Tell me people haven't changed. That commercial would get a candidate laughed out of the campaign now!
Any chance you remember the two old codgers I bought hay from the first year I was here? I know I remember talking about them. They grow local hay which is cheaper than the Eastern Washington stuff I buy at the feed store. I bought a hundred bales or so from them that year, and my friend Lisa came to help unload it. I was glad I asked her to help because when I talked to the old guy the first time, and he said he and his ~son~ would come by to deliver it, I pictured that his son was under 70. These are wirey old guys, still working that hard!
Last year I didn't have their number, and bought hay from someone else. These two guys showed up about a week later asking if I wanted hay again, but I had already bought it. I felt bad for not being able to give them the business.
Well, they weren't gonna miss me this year. They are baling now, and stopped by to ask me! I told them I would buy at least 100 bales, as much as we can fit.
Now ecurbh and I have to get some room made in the barn.
