Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

My sister's gonna get me in to see Bourne Supremacy, so I'm going to see it, even if it's dumb. The first movie really didn't have much to do with the book anyway.
Equilibrium's about a society where everyone's drugged to prevent emotions, and books/music/art are banned. One of the guys who hunts down people who violate those laws stops taking his medicines. Fairly standard but it was rather artistic and some of the scenes were quite surprising. More like the first Matrix movie than the sequels. One scene could have been ripped right out - but it was a fun watch.

It didn't :) It was still closer than this one, though. The action was still entertaining with some good spy-type stuff, but it didn't measure up to Ludlum's original in terms of the complexity of the plot and mystery.
Sounds like "Equilibrium" is sort of "Brave New World" goes "Matrix" :)
Now I'm starting to wonder if that other girl is really the one who's going to destroy the world and not Pacifica.

We really liked Equilibrium. Interesting idea, with some nice twists...characters did stuff you didn't expect.
Sean Bean reading poetry is rather nice, too.

Hullo!
Skipped work today to help my mom with the kids while the kitchen was put back together.
Got all of the cabinets and countertops installed. Well, except for the wall oven section that had to be redone to accomodate the single oven instead of the double - but other than that, the appliances will be put back in tomorrow and it's ready to rock'n roll again!
YIPPEE!!
