On June 14th of this year President Bush welcomed Bill and Hillary Clinton back to the White House for the unveiling of their portraits.
Being the gracious, polite adult that he is, President Bush had some kind words for X42 and that made some people very unhappy. President Bush had done the right thing being gracious to his guests and I disagreed with those who would have had him exoriate old X42. However, each time I heard a sound bite of the president's speech it became clear, someone with an imagination and knowledge of clinton could interpret those words in another way.
Here are my interpretations of some of President Bush's remarks.
The years have done a lot to clarify the strengths of this man.
As we republicans predicted it would take time to see the real damage done to our country and this White House, how do you like your boy now? Still think his presidency was chock full of peace and prosperity? Oh, and some of you still can't name three accomplishments of that Administration.
As a candidate for any office, whether it be the state attorney general or the President, Bill Clinton showed incredible energy and great personal appeal.
Nothing of any significance was accomplished.
As chief executive, he showed a deep and far-ranging knowledge of public policy, a great compassion for people in need, and the forward-looking spirit the Americans like in a President.
Again, nothing of any significance was accomplished.
Bill Clinton could always see a better day ahead -- and Americans knew he was working hard to bring that day closer.
Looking past the terror threat doesn't make it go away. Thanks to the media many were lulled to sleep and received a nasty wake up call that morning in September.
Over eight years, it was clear that Bill Clinton loved the job of the presidency.
What better way to feed his huge narcissistic appetite?
He filled this house with energy and joy.
Too bad so much was wasted keeping this slug out of trouble and the only good times came from saving clinton's bacon from the fire.
He's a man of enthusiasm and warmth, who could make a compelling case and effectively advance the causes that drew him to public service.
Boy he loves to charm the ladies and what's the ultimate chick magnate? The White House of course.
President Bush is a smart man, he knew clinton would sink himself with that stupid tome of his. Why in the world would President Bush attack clinton when clinton does it so effectively to himself?
Thank you President Bush, it was a refreshing change from trying to parse all that bill clinton speak.
I daresay Cheney's family background is more humble than Edwards', and the bottom line is that it doesn't mean a hill of beans what one's father did for a living, it's what you've made of yourself. Edwards chose to join the least trustworthy and most underhanded fraternity of lawyers, the plaintiffs' bar. Kerry chose to marry for money, falsely accuse his comrades-in-arms of heinous war crimes, and never take a real stand on anything else. Bush, in contrast, has chosen to say what he intends to do, and then do it. I don't care what any of their daddies did. I care that there is such a contrast of character.
Happy days are here again because this afternoon between 4 and 5 'GEEKS ON CALL' are going to show up at my house and FIX my computer! Woooo hoooooo!

I should add: Hillary's double chin is taking on a life of its own and Jenna's blouse is atrocious! As for the Kerry girls, well, bless their hearts.
atrocius seems kinda strong. it (the blouse) wouldn't have been my first selection, either. How about the two aardvarks in the photo below her? Jeez, I was just looking at the blonde one's nose and not only would you have to sheer off a fair amount longitudinally, you'd have to totally remake the nostrils. I was pretty good at ear trims on dogs, maybe I should send them a business card? (ok, tacky, but funny.)
Okay, not atrocious, I agree, just not the most appropriate thing she might have pulled from the closet.
I think the blouse is not appropriate atire for campaigning.
I wouldn't wear it to sort hogs,, but that's just me. If it was mine, I'd scrub the floor with it.

We would have gone with something from Talbots! I don't think young twenty-something's shop there, though. Surely Donna Karan or someone has classy stuff for twenty-somethings.
I can't stand bell-bottoms. They looked stupid in the 70's and they look stupid today. I really hate them.
Woo hoo, congrats to Stewart on a great 2d round (currently tied for 4th).
Well, as tall as she is, Jenna looks a far sight better in those bell bottoms than I would if I were goofy enough to want to look like a 20 something.
I could find it in my heart to forgive the pants if she'd have worn a decent top. I guess I'm getting old,, but I think she should have covered the clevage, too.
I just can't get over the incredibly ugly blouse.
Just dashed off this letter to the editor in response to another person's letter:
In a recent letter to the editor, Michael A. Crawford misrepresented President George W. Bush’s military service and, in the process, demeaned every National Guard member. The National Guard and reserves most certainly are part of the armed forces - not cowards - as many Ohio and West Virginia guardsmen currently in harm’s way in the Middle East would tell you.
Mr. Crawford says it’s time to get the draft-dodgers and cowards out of the White House (but enough about Bill Clinton!), presumably to be replaced by a traitor and war criminal. That’s right, John Kerry claims he and his fellow U.S. servicemen in committed uncountable atrocities in Vietnam, from rape and torture to mutilation and electrocution. Curiously, members of Kerry’s unit don’t back up his accounts. The Ohio Valley’s Vietnam war veterans should be offended by such false and outrageous claims.
While still a member of the U.S. Navy, Kerry - by his own admission - twice met with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong officials in Paris. He testified in 1971 before the Senate Intelligence Committee that he wholeheartedly support the communist enemy’s demands at the Paris peace talks.
Sen. John McCain, a former prisoner of war, has said his North Vietnamese captors used reports of Kerry’s antiwar activities to demoralize and taunt the American POWs.
The question in 2004 should be which candidate will effectively deal with terrorism and help improve the economy today - areas in which President Bush has proven himself competent. Instead, Sen. Kerry - who never lets us forget he served in Vietnam - and his Bush-bashing
supporters seem to prefer living in the past. If he insists that Vietnam is relevant to this campaign then, to be fair, we should look at his whole record. It’s not impressive.
