I don't think he did much of anything. He was on The Andy Griffith show up until his early teens.

And either before, or around the same time as starting the AGshow, he was Winthrop Paroo in the film version of "The Music Man."

He was in "The Shootist" wasn't he? I guesss he was doing movies (in front of the camera.)
