Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OK what is this thread that you and Rosie have been talking about today? If Racebannon is there, it must be interesting.

Back.... We bought a 20 inch TV combo with a DVD player in it for our bedroom! Used some of our wedding present money, so thanks all! And we bought a ton of hay that will be delivered shortly. And we bought some weed killer and some squirrel food.

Hey all. Just received this photo in email of one of the marines we are supporting. This is my friend Marty's daughter in Afghanistan. Her comment on the photo is, "This is me standing in front of the CO(commanding officer) getting an award for doing my job. Only in the Marine Corps."

*snif* I'm just glad she's doing her job. :-)

WN: Thanks for posting the pic, I concur, we are glad Marty's Daughter got the award, for doing her job. She is a modest one, doubtless something important. Pass along our thanks for a job well done.

Well gang, it looks like we're gonna attempt to go to Deer Island, New Brunswick for the weekend. However, I never did get through to the campground, so we'll either be calling on the way or hoping they have openings. From what we've heard, it's NOT the most crowded place on earth, so maybe we'll get lucky.
I'm very tempted to chicken out, but the siblings say it's BETTER if it doesn't go perfectly, 'cause then it'll be an adventure. I'm not sure I WANT an adventure...
Pray for me, OK? I'm gonna need it!
We'll be on the road early tomorrow. I'm trying to get some laundry done now, and get together food for at least the first day or so.

Hey howdy there evellybody! [sip]
Well, well... got another fun visit from the Balrog about midnight last night. [sigh] Now he's beating up on my staff. Really cheeses me off. Not only is he wrong, but he's wrong *and* unprofessional. Ack.

Safe journey, Rosie! I'll be praying!
Evenin' folks. Haven't taken my NyQuil yet because the kids are still up and I don't want to pass out until they're settled.
So here I am to pass the time amongst my friends. :-)

I'm feeling like I may not sleep much tonight. *sigh* Nervous!
But I'm realizing I have LOTS of stuff I can bring for food. Canned goods I haven't used in forever 'cause I like just making stuff fresh. If we DO end up at a campground, we'll have access to firepits and can heat stuff up, plus we have a little propane stove.
Maybe should bring some herbs and be on the lookout for coneys...

But I dunno what to bring for breakfast!
Figgers I'm most worried about food. Rain? Bah! We can handle rain, so long as we're well fed!

Does he run around in bunny slippers and home-made monarch wings? *wink* He will by the time I'm done with him. Shuffling down the wing of the mental ward in a plaid bathrobe and his pants on the floor and sucking his thumb.
Never play mind games with a professional. :-)

Heh...
I've heard there are seals up there...but I'm thinkin' we best not try for those. If we want to return home, that is.
