The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Thank you for that and maybe some day I'll be able to post pretty messages like that.

When you grow up, right? ;-)

Happy birthday!

Bear; last we a couple of us were doing some survey work along I-70, several convoys went by, we high fived and waved, seems like most every soldier sitting shotgun waved back. I think they appreciate a bit of recognition.

IIRC, 2J and the others were doing the same in the other car... we got a lot of smiles from the troops and some waves back, too.

When you grow up, right

We have our 16 year old grand daughter visiting with us for the past two weeks and she says I embarrass her when we go out to eat because I talk to people I don't even know.

I told her that if I embarrass her then I am doing my job right.

LOL! Well, in hobbit-years that's still barely out of your tweens :)

OT and I were in the car in front of you. Every vehicle we passed we got waves and big smiles back! It was great fun! :-)

Uh oh, arm in cast -big disadvantage in brotherly roughhousing.
Mom and dad worried that my brother and I would destroy ourselves when we were little.
We had a habit of detonating or incinerating the backyard.

Can you get Steve a Camelback water pack at all?
Some units have authorised them, and I hear they are useful.

You can combine it into one statement too, like:

< font size="6" color=green > Text to change goes here! < /font >

(Don't forget the /font at the end!)

Please say a big Howdy and Welcome Home to smaagee for me too! Those were great pics.

Hey Smaagee... I hope you get some quality R&R. You sooo deserve it. I'm sure that there's damn little fun in the tour over there, but hang in there. It's worth it, and it matters.

Evenin'! Are you getting rained out up there too?

Did you see the news about Six Flags in Arlington?

Thanks for the tips -Copied and pasted. I won't practice here though. FR has HTML sand box for screw ups like me.

Also I have discovered how to to use it with Yahoo email. Cant figure it out with my graffiti.net account though.

There's been lots of rain up here. Seems like all the time we were in WA the rain was here! We drove over Lake Waco this evening and it's way out of it's banks covering some of the lower-lying roadways. The kiddie park that we like to take the kids to is under water.... just playthings sticking up out of the water. Looks like it might be kinda fun to go play on 'em now! :-)

Ya know, they built Six Flags on an old swamp. There is something about that kind of topography that would suggest that these things might happen. LOL

Oh, also, to get your text to center on the page use

< center > no spaces again... text after the html.

It's a 'canteen' that you wear on your back.
Pretty useful thing.
