The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh... yeah. That's about the size of it.

The south-eastern extension of 360 is one of the proposed toll roads... maybe one day 360 will be a loop, and not just a segment...

Don't feel bad, 2J. The worst I've felt about bouncing a check was when I wrote one where I worked for $3 to put gas in the car, when it was $.50 a gallon! Talk about embarrassing!

It will work out, and it's something I'm sure we've all done before!

"How's this one?"

Gah!!! That was scary!

LOL--you just reminded me of an episode of SNL where Billy Crystal was playing Fernando Lamas ("You look mahvelous!") and confessed that he was the father of the Menudos :)

"Yeah, but before then, he was Opie!!"

That's why I listed him separately from the not-yet-famous people :) BTW what did he do between Opie and Richie besides "American Graffiti"?

a whole 'nother life may await.

That's right...I keep just treadin' water!

The jobs that Steve is already looking in to pay around 60K...that's more than twice our yearly income now. Our goal is, if we can, get the little bit of land, but mainly keep our frugal lifestyle going because we have no savings and we will want to help the jedis at least a BIT with college!

By frugal, I mean minimal extravagance...it'll be nice to be able to just get the car fixed without putting it off to the last minute, not buying the most expensive car out there...no matching speed boat/dually ensemble...a nice used pontoon boat would be nice someday...I do like to fish!

And then to complete the evil boy-bands of the 80s, there was New Edition:

Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, and Mike

If I love the girl who cares who you like

BTW, re: that guy in the middle of the picture: I didn't remember Scott Baio being with the Menudos :)

Well, it is already taken care of...but I still hate it.

I'm doing "practice runs" this week for my lesson recording...not really recording any classes, because they aren't on, just set up the machines to record like I was...

Wasn't Ricky Martin in Menudo when he was about 14?

Between Opie and American Graffiti, it looks like Ron Howard did several TV shows, and a few movies, the best known of which is The Music Man.

Clare and I were discussing her Junior year. She'll be doing a couple of courses at the Community College beginning in January. She wanted the Fall to do a lot of work on the other courses she'll be doing at home.
