LOL! I have a basic Vietnamese tutorial CD if you want a copy.
Oh, that's ok...I just thought it would be nice to be able to say thank you to them in their own language...
I'm leaving.... on a jet plane... don't know when I'll be back again.
See you all Saturday!
I had my passport with me at wedding moot. ~snicker~
Morning everyone. Got the dialup issues repaired here in Valley Mills this morning so I shouldn't be so hit and miss now. Yesterday was kinda off and on - but certainly not near as bad as Ramius' current wireless mess.
2J, that is very cool about learning the language things for your manicurist. I have told you the story of my nail tech in freepmail so you know how much I think of her.
Ruthy, I dunno about you, but I'm not in the state I want to be in right now!
Corin - darn the pool!!! Let 'em swim in slime! :-D
Hair and Ecurbh - waiting to hear if you're taking that little extra vacation excursion that you were pondering. After being such excellent hosts to so many people at such an important time in your life you certainly deserve to get off alone together on a pleasant adventure. :-)
Ramius darlin', the wireless FUBAR... *sigh*
C-ya Jen!
Have a great trip, Jen! :) Looking forward to hearing how it went! See you Saturday!
I'm sure they'll appreciate that! :)
You know all that I told you about my nail tech... well, she also has a little 3 year old girl that is an absolute doll. The daughter is often in the shop with her. The little girl can't fully speak English yet, she is much better in Vietnamese because her Vietnamese grandmother is the child care provider. But, the girl and I have really hit it off. I have no idea how I would type her name... the sounds don't translate to letters! LOL.... but, she calls me "My beautiful American lady"! HA!!! Does anyone wonder why she stole my heart? :-)
You were thinking of invading Canada, huh? :)
Awww!!! How sweet!!
Just all this talk about how I didn't know how to say milk in French and how nasty that woman in the cafe was to me reminded me that I ought to try to go out of my way to be kind when it comes to those that don't speak our language perhaps as fluently...
The lady that re-did the paint on my nails learned what a clam was...I hope. LOL!
69 days...
Didn't ya know? Texas is a whole other country!
Didja take pictures of the clam? :-)
Oughtta be good 'n slimy after the first 10 of those 69 days. After that I bet you'll have less folks showin' up and less worries! :-)

Dear Sirs:
My name is CPT Teague.
I recently received one of your Hobbit knives. I believe that COL Gross forwarded my name along with LTC Turevon, CW3 Carlson. Just wanted you to know, that you shipped all three knives to me and that I have forwarded LTC Turevon's and CW3 Carlson's knives to them along with a copy of your note.
I also wanted to thank you for the knife. It has already come in handy and I've had it less than a couple of days. Please keep up the good work. Little things like this really let us know that people back home care and that what we are doing over here is worth all the sacrifices.
Again, thank you so much.
God Bless:
CPT Les Teague
Say, doesn't that mean you do know when you'll be back again? ;)
Seriesly, have a good trip, and I hope you get everything settled to your satisfaction in Colorado!
Unfortunately, they all got my phone number. Actually had a woman call today saying "1 in 3 children get pinworms from swimming pools." Wanted to know if we were shocking the pool (chlorinating the snot out of it - so to speak) every night. I told the guards to just tell her we were monitoring the levels.
We have an algae problem every year around August and have to do just that. You over chlorinate with dry chlorine, then backwash the pool until it starts to clear. Took us a couple of days last year to get it straight.
The year before, our chemical guy (yep, Mr. won't-return-phone-calls) had gone on vacation. None of us knew what to do. "Fortunately" that was during the midst of our severe drought problems. The Governor issued a ban on using water for lawns, washing cars, swimming pools, etc."
We blamed it on the Governor and closed for the season.
Thanks, 300wm! Makes my day!!
"Didn't ya know? Texas is a whole other country!"
LOL! I had heard that before, just forgot, ROFL!
Thanks for passing that on!--always good to hear from the troops and to hear the knives are being put to good use :)
