The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

No, this is sooo shonen. But the shonen I like tends to be a little bit sweet, too. Like Kenshin.

AH! I think I just discovered how this stuff works. I may have found the font of manga...

LOL!
Norkell would be more like a fuzzy cute Smaug or Ancaligon the Black with twitchy nose and whiskers...

Thanks for those encouraging words...I just was feelin' so down.

I really ought to work and that plays a lot in to it...I make $28 an hour! But I want to stay home and Steve encourages me to stay home...and now it's been so long that I would need some training to go back to work.

I'm thinking of calling my agency I worked for and asking them if I could do some orientation on my own time, just to get back into the swing of things...

Times like these I really wish we had our Hobbit Hole compound. You could be our nurse and could stay home all the time! :-)

All kidding aside, chica, things'll pick up and straighten out soon. I know it!

Hi there!

Getting any work done at home?

I can't imagine staying focused long enough with so much to do around the house.

*looks at scattered papers and unopened mail on my desk in front of me*

We should start a militia...the Middle Earth Militia! HA!

Nothing is really getting "done", strictly speaking. In fact there's a couple of big parts that didn't even get "started". [sigh] Usually I'm actually *more* productive at home.

I guess that means that if I'd gone into the office I would have gotten even *less* done.

Well, I guess it's a safe bet to say that what you did get *done* was well-done, simply because you weren't interrupted a gazillion times by the Lumberghs of the world.

You wanna join the Middle Earth Militia with 2J and me? *laughing*

Whatever you like!

If I ever learn how to fire a rifle, I'd prolly be happy just doing that. It's old hat to you and most of the folks of the Hobbit Hole anyway, so might as well let the new girl have her training!

Well... I'm out of Turkey, so I'm having an iced tea with Rum. Seems to be working just fine.

I took a nap after my last post--just got back and catching up here:

"No, this is sooo shonen. But the shonen I like tends to be a little bit sweet, too. Like Kenshin."

Hmmm, just realized the band "Shonen Knife" might have taken its name from "shonen".

Okay, gotta read the next post to see what the font of manga is about. . .
