The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Marigolds are very easy to re-seed! Just when you see a flower dying, pull it off and stick it in a paper sack. It'll dry over the winter and the seeds are inside the base of the flower! Just split open the base and you'll find tons of seeds! Then you can just seed them the way you did these.

A note...mine never seed true...the yellows never come back yellow, they all come back that yellowy orange color. Which is ok by me...they are pretty!

Thanks. I just have to keep reminding myself to be patient. They will likely bloom better next year. The soil is pretty crappy...mostly clayish kinda stuff. So I hope to have some good home grown compost to put on 'em.

I'm not as concerned over the ones that haven't bloomed a lot as I am over the ones that haven't bloomed at all. But then again, I have no idea what kinds I actually planted...some from Nana, some from the store, so they may yet bloom.

Thanks. I told Nana we'd better do that with her 4 O'clocks as well since we want to make sure they come back.

"Winter home....that's an idea. But only for the first 2 weeks of February."

Well, as long as you had other houses to go hopping around to every other day or so :)

Have a good night!

If you want to hear, Freepmail me.

Search Me, Lord

Written by Thomas Dorsey

As performed by Brother Joe May,
"The Thunderbolt of the Middle West"

Chorus:
Search me, Lord!
Please, search me, Lord!
You just turn the light from Heaven on my soul!
If you find anything that shouldn't be,
Take it out and straighten me!
I wanna be right!
I wanna be saved!
Oh, I've got to be whole!

(Repeat chorus)

You know when I'm right,
You know when I'm wrong.
You know where I go,
You know where I belong.
You know all I do,
You know my secrets too.
Lord search me, touch me, cleanse me through and through!

You know all my thoughts,
My every word and deed.
You know where I go, Lord,
You know just what I need.
There may be something there,
That I'm not aware.
Lord, take it, move it, keep me in Your care!

(repeat chorus)
