Special Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
The rope lights can be cool too.
Incidentally, that reminds me. Does anyone here use DSL? I have the choice of DSL, or cable internet, or (gasp!) dial-up, and I need to decide. I don't know anyone who uses DSL, so what are its ups and downs?
credit card... credit card... credit card
No, I wouldn't advocate going into more debt, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I can see why you and Mrs. Stormhands might need a bit of a time away alone. Gotta weigh the health of the relationship (and the sanity of each of you) against the health of finances sometimes.
I'd like to see you two just be able to go off alone and enjoy something. With all that goes on in your household, that would be good news.
We're on cable with Comcast. It's a bit spendy.
Yeah, I know how much cable is, but it's also quick, convenient, and I know how to fix most of the problems with it.
Heh, what I need are next-door neighbors with a wireless network...
Woo hoo Jen! You're startin' to sound like a Redneck Woman!!! :-)
Maybe we need to add that to the Hobbit Hole prayer list!
We did sorta get away last winter when we went to my board meeting. But that was really business.
We haven't been away, just the two of us, since way before Luke was born...at least 6-7 months before...;-)
Our options for who we would trust to leave Luke with are also diminishing. My mom's health can't handle it. And now the older sister is having health issues and Nana issues, so that's out. We could leave him with the younger sister, but she's gots three kids and we're not interested in repaying THAT favor...
Oh... I thought it was kind of geeky... not sure I have the qualities to be a redneck...
You can't pray that I'm able to steal internet access! It just wouldn't be right!
Er, but it would be really nice if it happened.
I think so, but then I'm biased. There are a couple different varieties. In any case, they're nice and green and will grow like crazy.
I'm trying to find a good image, but coming up short! They don't flower...at least I've never had one that did. Have kinda vines and big, dark green heart-shaped leaves - that's the most common variety, in any case.
Good morning/afternoon...
Have looked at some of the differences of cable vs. DSL. As I see it (and anyone feel free to correct me) cable is usually a bit faster and more reliable. The pricing is usually about the same per month, but if it's a phone company providing the DSL then they often require that you sign at least a one-year lease, whereas cable usually doesn't.
So, I'd go with cable over DSL.
Once again, a HHD is missing out on my *liking* to keep kids for weekends and stuff!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;~D
I think technically to be a Redneck Woman the lights have to be permanently on the front porch...
Speed can vary depending on how close you are to the switch. But I've not had any real outage time, unlike some friends with Charter. I've heard nightmares about DSL in other areas, though.
Maybe the wife and I just need to spousal-moot in Texas and drop Luke off at your place on the way...
Well, a lot of times I've found you get what you pay for (like my haircut, and my nails!)...most of my shirts are from walmart, they look, wash and feel cheap and they don't last. Which is ok by me.
I have also found that a well-made clothing item that lasts and washes up nice and holds it's shape is expensive but is worth the money...except I don't have the money!
So when I find something that meets that criteria for 59 cents, I'm pretty pleased and I want to keep my eyes open for more of it!
This brand ain't cheap, apparently...which doesn't always make a brand well-made, but in this case I think it must because this is one really nice blouse!
I have no idea if this makes a lick of sense.
It's the Christmas lights. Reference in the currently popular Gretchen Wilson song Redneck Woman. I know, pop culture.
Oh, good! You found a picture...I tried and failed!
I think they're purty. I love that dark green.
Mine needs to be cut back, though. It's threatening to completely take over the livingroom.
