Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I just got AAA...just a few months ago when my car was scaring me...

I also intend to put kid-sized life preservers in my car and a hammer...if I drive off a bridge, I'm gettin' my Jedis OUT!

I would, but you have to be a super-duper-tip-top-high-security-low-risk-unofficial-registered Member of the Chachi Unified Theory Fan Club.

Otherwise, I would have my membership revoked and be subjected to watching 100 episodes of Who's The Boss as punishment.

*knock, knock*

Oh no, they've heard me talking to you...no, NOOOO please....please, I didn't tell him anything....please anything but that...pleeeease....not Tony Danza!!!! Charles in still in charge....Charles is still in charge.....HELP! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

"She just locked her keys in the car WITH THE CAR RUNNING!"

Bummer! One time when I was little my Mom did that but fortunately there were some cops passing by and they had one of those car-door opener things so they were able to let us in.

My fear when Matthew was little was that I would lock him in the car.

I can imagine I'd be locked out for a whole 15 seconds at the most though...I'd get in that dang car.

Well, AIRPLANES have flotation devices!! And I hardly ever fly over water! And I have these kids vests in the garage...and I never go on a boat! But I drive over bridges all the time! And every time I think "Oh gosh, what if I plunge off of here, what would the Jedis do???"

Well, I just put the vests and hammer in the car and I feel MUCH better!!

We left my little Zulu-dog in my mom's car once with it running. When we were comin' back to the car, she stood up on the door and stepped on the lock button.

She just sat there, very excited to see us come back, not quite understanding why we didn't just open the door. ;~D

Heh... when I was twelve, I managed to lock my little brother and the dog in the car. Little brother, like 8 months old. Dad had to come home from work with the spare key - fortunately we were at home, and it wasn't a hot day or anything.

You should have heard our pilot in the float plane giving his FAA 'schpeal' before we took off... "In the unlikely event of a water landing..." LOL.

I can see the headlines: "Formerly Slight Pudgy Housewife Survives Driving Car Off Bridge, Dies from Blow to Head by Errant Hammer"

I always knew there was a Baio-Danza connection. . .

BTW, this ties into the theory I was advancing on another thread recently: that Hollywood is secretly controlled by Adam West through his henchmen Dick Van Dyke and Dick Van Patten. I'm pretty sure there's a connection between Chachi and Van Patten's nephew Timothy, who played Salami on "The White Shadow". . .

Oops!!! LOL

The only thing that would worry me would be if it was hot and the A/C was off or something...but I'm glad that is something I don't have to worry about any more...they know how to get out of the seat restraint and unlock the door now!

"I can imagine I'd be locked out for a whole 15 seconds at the most though...I'd get in that dang car."

Yeah, if there's a kid locked in the car, that's a different situation entirely.

Some recent cars bug me because you can't do stuff manually without the electronic clickers/buttons. I don't like that idea in case of emergency.

Right... loose hammers flyin' around the car...

I used to have a real fear of Logan when I had my Bronco. I knew if I ever got in a wreck... I'd be fine if my 90 pound Labrador hadn't come over the seat and broken my neck!

LOL!!!! It's in the utility compartment!!

Another thing I hope I don't ever have is power windows...or power locks...gosh, I don't even know if they make cars without them but what if the system fails and you can't get out???

Flash floods scare me too...being trapped in a car surrounded by rushing water. I mean, if I put life vests on the jedis...at least they'd have a CHANCE. And flash floods are a real issue around here...not rare at all.

You'd think I'm scared of water...but I'm not! I love to ride rapids and swim at the beach...but I have had recurrent nightmares throughout my life of being overwhelmed with HUGH amounts of water...

Did you ever see that movie about the asteroids hitting earth...with EW in it? There's a big wave that hits and THAT'S the size water I dream about.

I had to go home once when the wife locked herself out of the house and the cat in the car (we were "between" AAA memberships).

She was taking the cat to the vet and realized she forgot something in the house...

"I'd be fine if my 90 pound Labrador hadn't come over the seat and broken my neck!"

LOL! I had a friend who had a big St. Bernard. The family went on vacation once and when they came back the dog was so happy to see them that he jumped on the owner and broke their ribs!

Trying to transport cats to the vet when they don't want to go is also an adventure. . .
