Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

"Apparently, he/she was upset that I hotlinked the pic onto FR.com and changed the pic on that particular img src to punish me. :-("
LOL! Some of my martial arts friends used to do that to get back at people who went into martial arts chat groups and threatened people online. The next day the offenders' websites suddenly had an, um, different orientation. . .

Shouldn't that be "either, neither"? :)

No, but you can pronounce it "ee-ther, eye-ther", if you don't want to be too repetitive.

Huh... how long is she going to be here? About a week. Ack. Have your brother get her a hotel.
Period. End of discussion. It's simply not polite for your brother to impose on you like that. Everyone involved will be more comfortable.

ohfercryinoutloud...
Was just talkin' to the Missus on the phone. She's got the boys at a consignment store to buy some really cheap jeans for Jr. to work in in Brazil (likely to get ruined working on the house).
She just locked her keys in the car WITH THE CAR RUNNING!
Fortunately, she managed to get out with the cell phone and her purse so she can call AAA...

Thank God for AAA! I've been a member since 1993 and they've fixed many a flat and jumped many a battery for me!
I've been lucky about locking my keys in the car...so far.

Heh...I did that the very first time I drove to the post office in my car after I got my license.
Luckily I was within walking distance of home (was on my way to work), but I still had to find someone who'd let me use a phone so I could call my landlord to let me into my apartment so I could get the spare car key.
I was illegally parked to boot, since I'd just been planning on running in and out.
It was NOT a happy day.

Oh!!! Remember when I did that when Matthew barfed at VBS last summer? My mom ran me home and I tore my knee open climbing through the bathroom window?
I was so upset about the keys and Matthew being sick and all that I didn't notice the messed up knee...
It's a dreadful feeling when you realize what you just did! LOL I'm glad I have AAA now.
Hey, Bear...when did that happen?? It was about this time last year, I think...
