The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You seem to be in a very Smurfy mood today :)

That breakfast post looked really good--do you have anything for lunch? :)

"the last time I got stung by a bee, my throat started closing up"

Yikes! That's scary! Makes me not want to see "Swarm" again anytime soon. . .

Gonna be fun in the winter.

On the other hand, running may help you warm up...

This is just for this semester. The weather shouldn't get bad until late October, so, no more than six weeks of "fun", I hope.

"There's no bacon left."

I was almost tempted to post a picture of Hillary Clinton in response to this, but when my stomach began to retch I decided against it :)

Don't ever worry about catching up on the Hobbit Hole. Just pop in and chit chat whenever you like. :-)

We need our Dwarves around, whenever you can be here.

Did I ever tell you that my dad has a Bacon factor of three?

My dad was in The Big Lift (1951) ~via the Army band~ with Montgomery Clift.
Montgomery Clift was in Misfits, The (1961) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon

To: Corin Stormhands

That's a pretty good Bacon factor considering you're working from 1951!
