Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yup, tomorrow's the day! I'm working until noon, and we're leaving for the airport at one. My brother's going to Florida to visit grandparents. His flight's at 4. Ours isn't until 7, then we fly to Chicago, wait for an hour, and fly on to Denver. We'll be getting in after midnight, our time, so I'm glad Dad's doing the worrying.

I'll be back Saturday night. Hopefully with an apartment picked out!

I think I have 2 kids here thinking like Becky now. My cousin's son looked at me vey seriesly and said, "I need a vacation from my mom and dad. Can I go to your house for some days?" Then the other kid chimed in that she's going too!!! LOL

Dunno if we can work that out, but I may be playing vacation spot for them next week! :-)

[stealing a sip]

Are you good on the wireless tonight? Did you fix something? (WN crosses fingers and hopes for a "yes" answer) :-)

If you're traveling with family, it shouldn't be a big deal even if you DO get stuck somewhere temporarily. Traveling alone is no fun!

Gonna go read for a bit. Got a couple more Brother Cadfael books. AND I'm gonna have some of that chocolate in a bit...

~waving at Steph~

Tell her - or show her - if she's there. We said we would say hello to one another through you.... but I don't know if you remember that. It was kinda late Friday night when we had this discussion. It was *after* the Irish Car Bomb.

Becky does bring it up from time to time...*wink*

I have to really do some scrimping and saving to make it to Entmoot next year. So a trip to Texas will have to be part of the Entmoot trip, or afterwards to be sure I can get to g'nad's!

Rosie - call me crazy but I want to do "Evening Prayer Blues" on the whistle.

OK, you're crazy. ;-)

Hey, Bilbo plays rags with us on whistle...so why not? Though it seems like it would be tricky to hit all the notes!

Have fun...

We're all reading "Mists of Avalon" this trip. It's one of Dad's two favorite books. I don't much like it... Mom's never read it. So we're going to discuss it on the driving portions of the trip.

Let's see... I've got my suitcase packed except for the pajamas, and my carryon gets packed tomorrow, because it's also my computer case and I have to go to work first, but I've got the stuff all organized. Great! I think I can go read for a while.

Okay, we will both be scrimping and saving. Cause you already know I'm not sure about being able to make it.

Got some good news though. Actually several good news items in the last 24 hours but 2 that you would know the background on.

First - there is a guy here in the home area who is interested in buying my old place for a reasonable amount. Selling that extra house would be a little extra money. And still, if I don't have my classes make in WF for fall and lose my job I have the offers to come back here to either Aunt Cheryl's house or PQ's mom's house to live till I find another job.

Second - there is someone who wants to buy my bike!!!! YEA!!! But I have to get the new stator installed first. So, I kinda need to get on that right away next week before the guy finds something else he wants to buy. If I can do that then I can avoid bringing it down here to put on the floor of the shop where I was planning to sell it! Would save several steps and this guy is offering a fair price! :-)

Very cool!!

Seems like everything is falling into place to ensure you can make it to Entmoot 2005. Because you ~have~ to make it, you know!

Work? Pffft! Everyone is entitled to vacation time, so name your dates and let them sort out the details!

LOL! I know it doesn't work that way, but I'm certain that you'll be there! Just like I was certain about good weather for WeddingMoot! :-)

You know...during Entmoot 05...I think our feet should all feel and look fabulous whilst shooting off weapons. I think it would make for a very nice shooting experience.
