Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You want to see a dwarf in a thong? No, you got it wrong.
She wants to see a dwarf without his thong!

Glad you are enjoying the Zelazny! My favorite stories in that collection are (in no particular order) the title story, "A Rose for Ecclesiastes", "This Moment of the Storm", and "This Mortal Mountain". Also, "Divine Madness".
Heh, you read the first story, and then the last stories, didn't you? ;)
And his imagery is so great. The way he puts words together!
Yes... if I could be granted any wish, it would be to have the ability to put words together the way he did...

Niters Ruthee... what ever you do... don't fall asleep whispering "dwarf, thong, dwarf, thong..."
Yikers.

Oh my gosh!!! Leno just said that Ted Kennedy's dog's name is "Splash!" Can that really be true? Leno says it is.

I really like this idea already. You know with that idea, I could blockade myself deep into Bosque County again I think! :-)

Splash?? That's waaay too funny to be true. That'd be like naming his boat "Chappaquiddick".

Rose, #3080 looks like you had a much more relaxing day there than you did today--if only you could jump into the picture, LOL!

Was funny! Was wishing we could check. It would *have* to be insanity for him to name his dog that. But, remember who we're talkin' about!
